Fujikura Speeder golf shafts

Hi everyone,

I demo'd a Taylormade SLDR 3HL today P/N N1125509 that had a Fujikura Speeder 77 Flex S shaft on it. I can not find out any information about this shaft. The Fujikura web site doesn't even have it listed as an option.

Anyone have an idea why I can't find out any information about this shaft? By the way, the store was Dick's Sporting Goods

It is probably a Made for Taylormade golf shaft. You probably will not find it on their website.

Yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking too

Can I assume then that it is not a junk shaft if it comes standard on the club?

Even expensive custom shafts might not be good. You never know. There is not standard for flex in golf shafts. Heck the tolerances can throw things out of sorts. You could demo an x-stiff, order the club that has X painted on it and it might be stiff flex or less.

Being it is Fujikura, they are known for quality. I would presume they are one of the better Made For golf shafts. I have no solid evidence to back up that statement.

Thanks, really the only reason I was wondering is because I have never had a 3 wood before, and certainly not a stiff shaft club. The tip is reported to be .350", so I guess if I needed to change to a R flex, it would be possible as that size is not real rare.

The place I went to did not measure swing speed, only ball speed. I averaged 132 over 10-15 hits with that club.

This club may be a Xmas gift from my kids, so I want to make sure it's the right combination for me

Here the info from the TM site \ SLDR FWs. Unfortunately, it doesn't give the launch profile of the shaft.

Also, the 3HL at 17* is what most club manufacturers call a 4W. The average golfer does much better with a 4W than a 3W.

I know that some graphite shafts come in .335" tip, while others are in .350" tip. But, I'm not sure which is most common. I would phone GolfWorks about this.

Thanks for the added input...I hit the club extremely well in the simulator with the stock 17* dialed in.

The club is adjustable +/- 1.5*

      Several years ago I got paired with a twosome of golfers, one of which had a maybe 5-year-old son with him. The kid had a putter and a 7i with him, and on some holes he would drop a ball near the green, chip on, and putt. If the kid started to get distracted, the dad would ask, "Do you need to rest?" The kid would nod yes, and then take his dad's seat riding in the cart for a couple of holes. It was a slow day, and the kid was polite and friendly. We got through 18 just fine. (If it had been a crowded course day, I'm sure it would have been less pleasant.)

      Caution for the seniors on weight training: Listen to your body. (I'm 75) I got a recent session with an orthopedist after a training-related injury. I put too much weight on a new resistance machine at the gym and ended up with bursitis in my left hip. Of course, it's the hip I dislocated back in 2023. I have my first physical therapy session tomorrow. I remarked that some days I can do 45 lbs. chest press - two sets - without much effort. But other days it drops down to 30 (😩) with just one set. (Complicating factor: I had digestive problems in this fall and lost about 20 lbs., with slip in muscle tone.) Orthopedist said that I want to feel some resistence, but that I should go with lots of reps with manageable weights rather than trying to set some sort of lift-pound record. I'm sure I'll get some refinements on lifting during tomorrow's PT.
