Hi All,

New to the forum and really glad to be here. I have a Hi bore XL 9.5 with a stiff gold band shaft. I can work the ball both ways with it, but it seems like its all carry. I tried the red shaft at the range and wasnt too impressed with it. At the same range I hit the FT5 and was murdering the ball 1/2 way up the back fence which is probably 20+ yards further than my driver. I'm guessing this shaft is putting too much spin on the ball. My driver speed is around 102 smooth swinger. I was looking at the ys-6 or Evolution, but didnt get good feedback on the evo from clubmakers so I'll leave it open to you all. Thanks in advance.

A.

There are a ton that you could try. ProLaunch Red, ProForce V2, YS-6, NV, NVS, but I would really look into a Fujikura 586. Its a bit more expensive than the others I listed, but performs much better IMO. The only way you are going to know what shaft is right for you is to hit them on a launch monitor. You could also look at the offerings from Mitsubishi Diamana. I have hit the HiBore XL Tour with the Diamana WhiteBoard and it is a cannon, although if you have issues getting the ball off the ground this would not be the setup for you. I would find a place near you that has a launch monitor with some sort of fitting cart that allows you to try different shafts. This is really the only way you will find out what is right for you and your game.

If you have that option, its worth the $50 to try different shafts on the monitor and see what gives you good numbers. You might also want to consider getting the shaft Pured. In my opinion, puring a shaft is the best $10 you can spend on golf equipment.

Hi All,

Here's another option.

Save your money and get the FT5.
