Wow, there was a time when the things that article said were true, in particular the cachet that "Heavyweight Champion of the World" once had.

But now, I think we would be hard pressed to find many "men in the streets" who could name the two guys who just fought for that title.  It is amazing how much that changed in such a relatively few years.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

Let's be real, he's a heavyweight champion, not the heavyweight champion. Klitschko is the real champion, and Wilder is just a guy with a fancy belt.

There are four major sanctioning bodies in professional boxing, and the nature of the sport's politics make it very difficult for there to be an undisputed champion in any weight class. Wladimir Klitschko holds three of those belts, and has been recognized as champion by at least one of those bodies since 2005 without a defeat, making him the lineal champion as well. The only reason he doesn't hold the remaining WBC title belt, now held by Wilder, is because his brother Vitali had been WBC champion for most of period from 2004 until giving up his belt in 2013 to focus on his political career in Ukraine.

Those are all details the author of the article chose to overlook. In my view, and of most of the people who follow boxing much more closely than I do, Klitschko is as close to undisputed as a champion can get.

    • Day 2 (20 Jan 26) - Similar work as yesterday - started with lead hand solo drills with the 50°, followed by series of pitches and chips utilizing full setup.
    • Hey, thanks for the feedback. I do lift weights but I’m also adding yoga or Pilates for mobility and flexibility to my routine.
    • Day 18: 2026.01.20 Continuing work on arm raise during backswing. Starting to feel less weird, especially the slower I go. Looking like a busy week so might be the weekend before I can hit some balls.
    • It’s possible the graphite shaft has a small internal crack or a delamination. Tapping it and hearing a vibrating sound is usually a sign the shaft isn’t behaving as it should. Since the store wasn’t helpful, consider taking it to a club fitter or a pro shop that can check the shaft flex and integrity. If it’s defective, you might be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer.
    • It’s interesting how much a 3D system changes your understanding. Observing top players in full detail and realizing the trail knee shouldn’t fully extend is a great example of why being open to new info is so important. I like your approach: not trying to be “right,” but trying to teach correctly based on actual evidence. Makes sense why golfers would benefit from this perspective.
