Looking at pulling the trigger on a sldr driver. Hit 1 into a net at the golf shop earlier this week and it was nice. Launch monitor showed really good numbers but idk how much faith I have in it. Also I'm seeing 2 different shaft options a 57 gram and 65 gram. Any opinions or major differences between the 2?

The stock shaft is the Fujikura Speeder 57. I'm not sure about the 65 gram shaft, is it also the Speeder 57? The X-flex is 61 grams.

I think you are looking at the TP, with one of the fancy shaft options?  As I understand it, all that makes the TP a bunch more expensive than the regular SLDR is the shaft options, unless you are looking at the 430 cc head TP as well?

I got a stock SLDR a couple weeks ago, with stock 57 gram shaft. That's plenty for me, IMO the fancy shafts aren't worth the extra money, and the smaller head is worse than the stock head for us higher handicappers, but that's just me.

I'd sure suggest you hit a stock SLDR with a stock shaft, just to see if it can save you a boatload of money :-)

If not, at least it was worth a try---

I'm sure what I hit at the store was the 460 with the 57 gram shaft. The Taylor made preowned sit is what is showing a 65 gram speeder shaft as an option. I just didn't know if I would be able to tell the difference or benefits

Just looked at the TM preowned site, yeah I see it, plain old SLDR with 65 gram speeder for same price.

Beats me! Other than just the general comment about the club feeling heavier, I have no idea specifically what difference that particular shaft makes. I suggest you google that shaft and see what comes up if you want.

Good luck! Sorry I was no help :-)

I would love to hear from anyone who was fitted/ recommended for the 65 speeder over the 57. The Taylor made website shows the exact same specs for both shafts in stiff flex. Both weigh 58 grams, both have 3.4 torque, and both are considered mid launch shafts

Then the difference is probably just the weight.
