How passive to keep wrists with pitch shot?

I’m learning the method for various short pitch shots within 30 yards, and think I’ve got it down, except my understanding on one thing. I’ve read to use extremely passive wrists and allow the connected body and torso to hinge the club up through momentum on the back swing. When I start, my wrists lag a little bit forward towards the target from the pull of gravity. This is especially true if my tempo is slow on a short high and soft pitch shot or lob shot. So, what’s your technique initiating the back swing as far as grip tension is concerned? Am I executing correctly?

If you don't conciously think about your're wrist action it should be fine. Otherwise, you will be to handsy or stiff.

I just let my core rotate and let the thing 'drop' basically for longer shots. For shorter shots though, I like to feel as though my shoulders/arms are controlling the shot. The wrists/hands stay out of it.

I try to think about keeping the pitch shot low...that seems to keep my hands/wrist less active with no "flipping" motion. It seems to work although sometimes I tend to really catch it crisp and it shoots off further than I expected. Still getting used to the distance control aspect.

With more wrist cock, you tend to get a higher shot and with less, you get a lower trajectory shot.
