This is a first for me. Wish I had a good story to go with it, but there isn't one. Hit a 7 iron from under a tree off of hard pan... Was 130 out, nothing out of the norm and the head flew off. It snapped just above where the shaft enters the club. Just returned from the post office, ping said they would fix it at no cost. G25.

Heh heh. I once got mad when I was a kid and threw a five wood into a tree and broke it completely. A 60 degree wedge got whacked into a tree trying to get a shot to the green and broke as well. Other than that, I've been lucky. I've seen people have club heads fly off and not be able to get them back or find them three times, which scares me because I'd hate to not be able to have a full set of my irons. I plan to keep them for 20 years. You probably just happened to hit it in the right way and it broke. Got to be a weird feeling. I saw David Duval break a club in a swing at the President's Cup. His partner was DL3 and they joked about it thru the round at least a couple of times.
