I have used a claw grip to putt for the last 12-18 months. I feel very comfortable with this style of grip. I currently game an Odyssey White Hot XG #9 putter.

In typical club-ho fashion, I have been lurking around my local golf retailers and playing around with some of the new stuff. I really like the feel of the new line of Odyssey Tank putters, but I was wondering if the claw grip is still a feasible option with the counterbalance style putters? While at the golf shops, I played around with both the claw and standard grips. The standard grip actually felt pretty good. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the purpose of the counterbalance grip to stabilize/calm the hands/wrists? And doesn't the claw grip already help with this by removing the potential for excessive right-wrist "action"?

Maybe I'm overthinking this...does anyone else here use a claw grip with a counterbalance putter?

Yes a counter-balanced putter can provide more stability and you can use whatever grip style you want, whatever works best. I think that the putter and the grip can provide different kinds of "stability".
