Now I've seen it all. Someone says "Fire in the hole!", before teeing off. This thing would probably make a well defined surgical hole right through a geese. The launch angle is lower than I thought, but makes sense, it launches so far. Wonder what radar would measure?

Quote:

ROYAL PALM BEACH — When inventor Phillip Noblin of Stuart and Matt Donovan of Royal Palm Beach began taking their long-drive launcher to golf fundraisers two years ago, the thinking was it was so unlikely that someone could shoot a hole-in-one on a par-5 from 500 yards away that they didn’t need to have insurance against it.

Then a woman holed out from 518 yards last year at Westchester. And a man repeated the feat from 489 yards at Northdale Golf and Tennis in Tampa two months ago.

Now they have insurance.

That's pretty cool, but I wonder if it could be improved by making a more stable barrel. That thing appeared to be wiggling all over the place.
