Welcome Gator.  Where exactly is home for you?  I'm trying to pry the wife away from disgusting Ohio for a move to the greater Tampa area.  She's a player as well.

And most definitely, keep hydrated!

Where in Ohio?  I just made the move from Cincinnati to north of Orlando in May.  Spent all 34 years of my life in Ohio, so it was a big move.

Welcome to TST! I too am from Tampa and have played just about every course in the area. I miss playing back home with the selection and year round weather, but I had to leave home to chase some $.

Enjoy and welcome again! There is plenty of content here to keep you busy during the work day haha

@oudrees 34 years old living in The Villages? You're like a new born baby in that community. My grandmother lives close in Lady Lake so I'm very familiar with the area.

I technically live in Lady Lake but work in The Villages.  My in-laws live in The Villages and my golfing is on The Villages courses.

Hi Dave, I am in Tampa.

We like it here, Tampa, Clearwater, St. Petersburg area, very nice area to live.  Hope you can convince her, if she plays all you have to do is tell her you can golf year round.  :)

Thanks again to everyone.  Heading out Sunday to golf if the weather holds.  Sunday we played a few twilight holes and I was actually hitting my driver pretty good.  Closed my stance in to shoulder length and think that allowed me to turn my hips through better, laid a couple out pretty nice so looking forward to what this weekend brings as far as improvement goes.  We shall see.

Akron area.  I work from a home office so all I need is an office, phone, laptop and access to an airport when I need to travel for work.  Unfortunately, my wife delivers mail for a living and the USPS doesn't relocate or provide any assistance to helping current employees relocate.  She loves her job and might be out of a job if we decide to move.

After the last couple of winters up here, I'm not sure I can take another!  The greater Tampa area is wonderful.  I'd like to stay on the west side of things if at all possible.  Tampa, St. Pete ... anywhere within a few miles of the beach.  Finding golf wouldn't be an issue regardless of location!

Take care and enjoy Florida!  I'll get there eventually.

Welcome to the forum. I live over in Orlando and being a native Floridian from Miami I am used to the heat. It is a great time of year to play. The prices are

cheap and not as many snow birds on the courses.

The weather is getting better, definitely has been a change.  We will see how it goes, have one tee time on Sunday afternoon.  Will be well stocked with water, gatorade and salty snacks.  Thank's for the welcome.

    • Day 121: did a bit of mirror work with my driver. Working on shortening the backswing.
    • Day 305 - Grip and backswing work. Full swings were bothering the hip a bit.
    • Day 56 - 2024-11-15 Light day. Lots of catch-up work. Checked the grip to make sure I wasn't compensating there, and did a little backswing work.
    • Day 197 (15 Nov 24) - Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management.  Solid round of 83 (41/42) - 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.
    • Have been on a mid to low 80’s roll of late - today was no different with an 83 (41 front / 42 back).   Played in the Friday men’s group outing - blustery conditions in play (wind gusting 10-20; spotty pop up misting rain; temps in the mid 50’s), so it was a good day to work on course management, delivering 7 GIR, total 32 putts - included 10 pars (3 being up and downs), a dbl and triple bogie.  Local course starting to get that winter feel - wet areas wetter, thin grass thinner, greens  trickier.
