Ball for putting for high handicapper?

I read the threads about balls and most of the fuss is about whether a hard ball that doesn't spin well makes any sense for high handicappers who can't control the spin.  I think the point is that for driving and fairway play, the high handicapper is better off without fancy balls that let a pro shape a shot.  None of that talks about putting.  Given that a high proportion of strokes are putts, what kind of ball makes it easier to putt for a high handicapper?

I don't think a lot of people focus any time talking about how well a ball putts, because a good putter can putt well with pretty much any ball... And so can a higher handicapper. Putting is more about having a solid stroke, speed control, and reading greens.

No one talks about it because the ball makes no difference for putting. Some balls feel different, but you can adjust within a few strokes, and even that won't likely reflect in any actual measurable difference, just your preference.

You are only hitting the cover, the rest of the ball is along for the ride.

Find a nonurethane ball that is soft.

I've putting with expensive and inexpensive balls -- did not make much of a difference to me. Some sound too clicky, others make no sound.

Titleist is the leader everyone follows.

I putted with a Snell GETSUM and Callaway Supersoft - they were fine.

The purpose of a Urethane ball is so iron shots and chips have some bite on them. I don't like the feel off the putterhead in a real cheap/hard ball without the Urethane cover. It is probably more nitpicking for me. Not really a huge difference in putting, but enough difference in feel for me to notice. IMO...Unless you just can't get off the tee box (losing a bunch of balls a round), you will be better of using a Urethane ball or mid-tier 3 piece ball with an iomer cover. As you improve you will have a chance of holding the green with long irons and you can go flag hunting with your short irons.
