Because of winter, my home course just went to cart path only. Instead of carrying 2-5 clubs to each shot, my fat arse is going to starting walking. I love my Dryjoy Pro's, but they are not meant for long walks. What do you suggest?

Ecco are pricey but very comfortable. I also really like the Adidas Tour 360 (I have 2 pair and my feet have never hurt in them) and last weekend tried on the new DryJoys, which felt very comfortable but I have not tried them on the course.

Before I bought my Dryjoy Pros, I had my hopes up for a pair of Eccos but they didnt fit me. I will try a pair of Addidas 360. Have they gone down in price since they came out?

I like Eccos as well. I also like Footjoy Classics. They are a very sturdily built shoe that give you great support, especially for walking. They also come in specific sizes for a super great fit. I wear an 11.5 B. And since you can send them back to Footjoy for repairing, they may be the last shoes you will ever buy. I have two pair that are 10 years old.

I too have been looking for some new shoes. I walk most of the time I play and want something comfortable as well. I currently have a pair of Nike SP-5's and 2 pair of Adidas Traxions. My Nike's are OK they just don't fit me very well and I found out this past weekend that the airbag in one of the heel is busted. I really like the Adidas so I tried on a pair of the 360's. They feel really good I just haven't bit the bullet yet with Christmas coming up. Adidas has a new version of the 360 called the 360 II out now and I have found the original 360's for around $125. I don't see that much difference maybe just some new color variations. I have 2 pair of Ecco dress shoes that are extremely comfortable, so I cannot imagine their golf shoes not being comfortable as well. My next pair will probably be the Adidas 360's though. Make sure you try them on for proper fit, I found that I needed the wide in the 360's and a regular width in every other golf shoe.

My Ecco's are 5 years old and still feel great. I walk 50% of the time, took a couple years off but first year and this year played about 30 rounds each year. I wear Rockports as an every day shoe...need the support...if the $$ is there, I say go for the Ecco's, they are worth it!

Yup, they've gone down on closeout sale in which you could find on some online stores. I'm referring to Adidas Tour 360 II. If you meant the first Tour 360 (older model), then you'd definitely get better deals on them.

DryJoy P.R.O.s work for long walks. Ask Angel. Cabrera, that is.

"Pros" doesn't mean "pros" - meaning "pros-shoes" BTW

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
