I recently got the 2 ball fang putter. I love the feel of this putter but the shipper sent me the 38 inch instead of 35. Nbd I've wanted to try a longer shafted putter anyway. So what I'm asking is what are the pros-cons to having a 38inch putter. Is there a particular reason there that long, like counter balance or something like that? Do I grip it different? And overall what is your personal opinion about them?

It really depends on whether it is counter balanced or not.  I use 38" counter balanced putter and I grip down on it like it was a 34" or 35" putter.

Just grip it like it was a 35" putter and see how you like it. The idea is that the weight in the grip end helps "stabilize" the stroke.
