The Ping G10 is a good iron, as is Callaway's Big Bertha 06 (it is being replaced by the new 08.) Adams offers good value. Try as many as you can and don't be read too much into brands or ability labels (game-improvement vs. super game-improvement.) Understand your strengths when selecting.

Great set of irons for a mid-handi are the titleist 775CB's. I had a set of Tour Edge Bazookas(which are hybrid irons, if you are unfamiliar) and it was a flawless switch to those.

the nike ignite irons with a hybrid 3 iron are a good set and are quite cheap (here in Ireland) 350 euro for the steel shafts and there good responsive irons with good shot feedback

Hi Follyforhire- been out testing 2nd hand sets of clevelands, bridgestone, ping, and calloways and new sets such as the cleveland CG, Ping G10s and calloway x18s. So far I got the best results for me on feel, distance and trajectory with the G10's at the local driving range here. Its a bit on the expensive side

so am putting it on my Xmas wish list for now. I did however gor their G10 3 fairway wood with a 15.5* loft and stock shaft. Was consistent with it on the range both on and off the tee, feel and distance worked for me. Will be trying it out on the course later. but from last night's test, i now have a strong back up to my Mizuno MX560 driver.

Congrats on the G10, Island Par. I took a couple of swings with a G10 3-wood over the weekend, and it seemed quite nice. Good luck with the irons.
