Nice Tee Shot but a Lousy Approach

For me there are two reasons I can fail in this way.

1) The psychology of golf often talks about staying in the moment, for a long time to me the general meaning was that I had to ignore bad shots and move on. As time went on it became clearer it also means to move on from good shots, reset the body and mind and play the next shot without the previous one hanging on in the mind.

2) Rushing the follow up shot to get on the green and hit that birdie. Take time to narrow your target from the wide fairway you just hit to the smaller target of the green you are now aiming at and give this shot the time it deserves. It's most likely a wedge shot so move from your driver thrash and get in the smaller wedge swing and control things.
