OK so I have been doing some research and pricing and here's what I've narrowed down to. I'm abut an 18 handicap and have been hitting Tommy armor 845 cs irons for years.

Current setup is

1 tm r15 stiff flex

2. Cleveland launcher 2009 5w with stiff shaft

3. Tommy armor silver back 845 c's

4. Tommy armor silverscot lob wedge

5. Scott Cameron detour putter

1. Taylormade aeroburner combo - 3h4h 5 to pw stiff flex. I get a TM tourlite bag which I could sell for 100 bucks. Total without selling bag =  730

2. Ping g30  - 6 to pw plus a 52 degree vokey - about 680. This set I can get fitted for length and lie.

3. Taylor made speed blade combo - 3h4h 5 to pw - 632

Cleveland Hibore xls tour w/ fujikura gold, stiff
flex
Northwestern - 5 wood
3-9 silverback 845cm
48, 54, 60 (silver scot) DetourBalls WarbirdBag Warbird Hot I want a 1 and 2 hybrid.....any recommendations?

I can't make a recommendation as to which clubs are best for you.  But I can relate my experience buying my new clubs.  I had narrowed my search down to Ping GMax, yellow dot, senior flex (using Ping's online fitting guide) or Callaway XR OS.

After asking questions and reading various threads on this forum I decided to go ahead and have a professional fitting.

After hitting Mizuno, Callaway & Ping, the fitter recommended (and I purchased) Ping G, Red Dot, +.25" Stiff Graphite S80 shafts.  I am hitting these 100% better than my old set of Ping G25 that I was "fitted" for at a major box store.  Get professionally fit, you won't regret it.

pb19,

You've had your current irons for several years and are an 18 HDCP. So, it looks like you want to upgrade your game. If you're wanting help from your clubs, get fitted.

You list three iron sets. I assume these are your finalists? Have you gotten to hit the clubs? What are you looking to get out of your new irons?

You need to test these irons on a launch monitor to get data on how the clubs perform for you.  Launch monitor data is part of the research you need to do. Make sure you get fitted overall. Otherwise, you're confusing price with value.

Also, do you have any summer demo days in your area? If so, you could try out different models, often hitting them off grass.

Focus, connect and follow through!
