Heat wave and now fires in So. Cal. Well, at least we have some water to put the fires out. . .

More than 2,000 acres were burning in the San Gabriel Mountains Monday after two fresh brush fires broke out amid a blistering heat wave.

Evacuations were ordered in Azusa and Duarte as the fast-moving fires burned near homes.

The first blaze, called the Reservoir fire, was reported about 11 a.m. at Highway 39 in the San Gabriel Mountains, said Andrew Mitchell, spokesman for the Angeles National Forest.

About 300 U.S. Forest Service crew members, along with Los Angeles County firefighters, were tackling the 1,200-acre blaze near Azusa. Water-dropping helicopters were aiding in the firefight.

Azusa police issued mandatory evacuation orders for residents who live in the community of Mountain Cove. U.S. Forest officials said San Gabriel Canyon was also being evacuated.

“We have activated the emergency alarm,” police tweeted. 

More than an hour later, a second 1,000-acre fire, dubbed the Fish fire, erupted near Brookridge Road and Opal Canyon Road in Duarte, said Capt. Keith Mora, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

      Spend Less Time Over the Ball

      A study done by the European Tour shows spending less time over the ball produces better shots.  This makes sense. I can see where if you are over the ball a long time you lose the ability to make a more athletic swing. There is also the possibility of just overthinking the shot while over the wall as well and not being in the right headspace.

      Vintage PING Hoofer Lite - How to Adjust Straps?

      I recently picked up a vintage Ping Hoofer Lite carry bag.  I am not sure how old it is but estimate it is probably from around 2012 or so? I cannot figure out how to adjust the straps! I am going to try to attach a picture of the bag and will also describe it below. I cannot figure out how to adjust the straps in a way that makes the bag comfortable to carry.  The bag also seems to want to be more upright/ vertical than how you would normally carry a bag like this. I have tried to search this site and others on the web but almost all info is on the newer ping Hoofer bags which have quite a different design. The bag is pretty minimal in terms of pockets and has no handle on the top.  It has 2 backpack straps that are not connected to each other.  They are connected to the top of the bag and in the middle of the bag above the primary ball/ gear pocket. Any feedback appreciated, thanks for your help!
