Thinking it would be fun to post 1 of my favorite memories from attending PGA tour events and then read others memories. In the 2005 WGC Match Play event at La Costa I followed Adam Scott & Robert Allenby on the final 5 holes of their 23 hole match. The 1st 4 extra holes were incredible, both Aussies 3 under, several clutch putts to stay alive. On the 23rd hole, a par 3, Scott finally won. As they were walking up to the green, I noticed I was standing next to Butch Harmon. I asked Butch if it was true that he taught Tiger the knockdown shot on his wedges. Butch said yes. Then I said, I think that's the shot that took Tiger to a whole new level of dominance, because in his early years on tour, Tiger had a big problem with distance control on his wedges. Butch replied, that's exactly right.
