Recently developed back/left hip problems . Went to a longer shaft putter and it has helped with discomfort . Has anyone tried the same  with  irons ? I would like to stand taller  at address . Oddly enough ,  I actually shortened my driver from 45 to 44 in  and had good results . thanks

Longer shafts might help somewhat if you had trouble with standing up during followthrough.

You could test this out by trying + 1/2" and + 1" shafts in a fitting situation, placing an impact decal on the face, and seeing where you make contact.

Now, if your back improved and you started staying down better, you could develop a new sort of impact problem.

Focus, connect and follow through!

yep - another bad back guy here - extended putting practice hurts my back WAY more than full swings.    I bought a 38" counterbalanced putter & cut it down to 36" - never putted better.   The back is more manageable as well ...
