I am a golfer with a 3.2 handicap.  I am 42 years old and still have good distance and usually the longer hitter in the younger groups I play with.  My struggle is swing plane and wanted to get others thoughts on this:

I practice using a Zepp swing monitor.  I consistently have + ratings on swing plane (meaning I go inside and then over on the downswing).  I know this is something I need to fix if I want to totally unlock potential in my swing as my mishits are always issues with my club getting stuck behind me.  When I am swinging poorly or in a funk, I place two balls side by side (with enough room for the club to pass) yet still hit both balls.

I was wondering what people thought about:

1) should I be concerned about a positive swing plane score or consider it a quirk that works for me?

2) what magic move or feeling have you found that works to get that out to in swing plane?  I have tried to recreate just about every feeling or thought possible yet I consistently find the club getting inside then over.

Obviously at a 3.2 it isn't a hacker's slice or crazy "over the top" move.  I produce a powerful draw with it.  But it is something that looks different and not correct when consistently watching my swing next to other pros side by side down the line.  Also, I feel that i could actually increase my clubhead speed even more if I was doing this correctly during the swing (as well as deliver more consistent shots).

Two questions of my own:

  1. Do you trust the Zepp to give accurate readings?
  2. Do you have a Member Swing thread?
