Hi Everyone,

It's actually my son who is the golfer in the family.  He'll be turning 9 in October and has been playing with the First Tee of Seattle for a few years.  The videos below are from a recent round of golf he played.

I've played a bit throughout my life, but never got very good.  I've been coaching my son mostly by watching on-line videos and giving him pointers.

Please let me know if you have any tips of advice for him.

Thanks! :)

I've been Playing Golf for: 3 years
My current handicap index or average score is: 41 on 9 hole par 3 course (Jefferson Park, Seattle, WA)
My typical ball flight is: don't know
The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: not sure

That is a pretty good swing to start. He stays centered on the backswing, which is key. I would have him work on getting more shoulder turn in the backswing. The video below will help.

I worked with him on this issue and I really think he is hitting the ball further and is more consistent.  I tried it myself, and I felt that it actually improved my consistency.  I thought it would just improve power but make swinging more difficult, but that doesn't seem to be the case.  It's a little surprising actually.

I'll post videos soon.
