This is the location to discuss the state of our game and future golf activities. NorCal crew, I am delighted to start a thread on our forum supporting the golf of NorCal.

What is the state of your game and where and when is the next round?

Start a NorCal game here too, all regions are encouraged. If you are traveling to the area, post it and we will make arrangements to play with you!

Below are preferred days of some of our NorCal crew, if your name isn't listed send me a pm or post your preferred days of availability. The more the merrier.

I'm in the Sacramento area and would like to meet at a course around here.

Custom fit RBZ irons. Taylormade RBZ driver. Some crappy old high-bounce Macgregor wedge and an even older Mizuno 5 wood. Haven't settled on a ball yet - still looking. Decades of football, weightlifting and boxing came together to create the world's worst golfer. I'm slowly correcting that now.

Just moved out to San Francisco from Atlanta, trying to work up a solid list of courses to hit while I'm living out here.  I've heard:

Presidio (Once I become a city resident $$$), Harding Park, Half Moon Bay, ...

Any other suggestions?

Also if any other bay area members want to get a round in somewhere, I would be interested in checking out some new tracks

I too am in the sac area, just send me a note, and it should get sent to my email, and we can o,at some rounds.

Fin, presidio is real good, but there are several courses in your area. I suggest golfmoose.com to find deals on courses in the area, usually about a 50% discount. Let me know and I'll play with you!

Awesome, thanks.  Looks like rain this weekend, then I'm headed to Pebble next weekend, but eventually I'll get out there and let you know!

Thanks, will do. Your name says you and I have other common interests too. As the weather starts to warm up here I'll let you know what's up.

    • 39, +4. A bit better hip slide stuff. More lateral, less turn with the hips.
    • Day 11: Worked on putting with the metronome
    • I added to total today by hopping it in on the first hole for an eagle. A short par 4, I hit 4 wood to 110. With a little breeze in my face I hit a 50 degree gap wedge to 2 feet and watched it hop into the hole for an eagle 2!
    • Sounds good. Text me if you have any questions. You have a good setup, too, and so long as you can get good camera angles… you should be good. https://skillest.com/@iacas
    • Day 14 (September 18).  Morning practice, despite questionable weather (it's raining).   Worked on chipping at first, including run-ups with UW and PW;  I've noticed lately some of my near-GIRs are missing forward, with nothing but grass ahead of me, but 20-30 yards to the pin.  After a few misadventures putting those lately, I wanted to at least get a feeling for what a 30-yard chip shot that doesn't have the variance of my quarter lob wedge would feel like.  I still think "putt when you can putt" is right, but... I am less sure I have a 30 yard putt in me.  Range time also, of course, same routine as the past week or so (drill, 3-4 slow shots, etc).   Did not get to the putting green as it was starting to come down a bit more. Darn, it really is raining.  And I thought today would be a perfect day to play, seeing as how it's 9-18 and all.
