So I am at my local short game practice area. Because I am going to the range afterwards, I have my full bag of clubs which means I also have my Clic Gear Trolley.

While focusing on a chip shot with my LW, I hear this commotion behind me. As I turn around, I see my trolley, and bag go flying by. A guy,  in a golf cart by himself, has hit my stuff, knocking it about 20'. Not only that, he also ran over my diy shag stick.

Being the easy going guy that I am, my first thought was if the guy was alright, and not having some sort of medical episode. He tells me he is fine that he just didn't see my gear. Then he tells me I should be more careful where I park my gear.

Still being my easy going self, I ask him not to leave until I check my gear out to make sure nothing broken. That he should have someone look at the new crack in the front of his rented cart. Nope, that crack was already there he tells me and then drives away like nothing ever happened.

My trolley and clubs were not harmed, but my diy shag stick was going to need to be worked on, or replaced.

I went to the cart barn and gave the guy there the cart number of the culprit, and explained what happen. He said he would go find the guy.

There is more to this incident, but it would make this too long of a read. All I will add is, that once found, the guy denied everything. Fortunately I was not alone at this chipping area, so there was a witness.

Bottom line is the score. Clic Gear 1, Golf Cart 0. The diy shag stick was just collateral damage.

Had you considered whacking him in the face with your putter. On some golf courses this is frowned upon, but where I play golf it is the norm :-D

In my bag (Motocaddy Light)

Taylormade Burner driver, Taylormade 4 wood, 3 x Ping Karsten Hybrids, 6-SW Ping Karsten irons with reg flex graphite shafts. Odyssey putter, 20 Bridgestone e6 balls, 2 water balls for the 5th hole, loads of tees, 2 golf gloves, a couple of hand warmers, cleaning towel, 5 ball markers, 2 pitch mark repairers, some aspirin, 3 hats, set of waterproofs, an umbrella, a pair of gaiters, 2 pairs of glasses. Christ, it's amazing I can pick the bloody thing up !!

    • I haven't run the ShotScope yet, but I played 18 today.  I hit a great drive on 6 and then, holes 7-17 (excluding par-3s) I hit some very uninspired drives.  Then, after hitting on 17, I realized I'm over-swinging.  So at 18, I took a practice swing with the drill I've been doing during practice shots at home the past few weeks.  Then I decided, one more practice swing, but you know, with the ball right there. So I did.  I didn't even hit it at full speed.  It resulted in a nice high draw and settled onto the fairway.  To put it simply:  if the rules allowed me to place the ball anywhere in my reasonable shot zone as that tee shot, the spot I would have chosen is where it ended up.  I went on to hit two more good shots (it's a par-5) and left myself with a 7' birdie putt.  While I missed it, that drive is going to stay in my head for a very long time.
    • Day 59, June 25.  Played 18 today.  I'll tell a story on the "best shot of the week" thread that makes me think happy thoughts.
    • Day 631 - 2026-06-25 Long day, but stayed a bit to get fifteen minutes of work in. Foam balls. Throwing the back of the club behind me.
    • Day 5 (25 Jun 26) - continued drills w/7i, hard foam balls focused on “nipping the tee below the ball” to reinforce consistent face contact.  Hit about 40 shots total.
    • Day 294 6-25 Low point control with towel. Then hit some foam balls with flow drill. Recorded.
