can you still hit long drives with a R flex? i know you can get solid contact but to increase distance, you need faster clubhead speed, and with regular flex, wouldnt faster clubhead speed cause the shaft to become whippy?

I think that you can still hit solid drives but you reach a plateau. I think that the highest I got with a reg is a 250 drive. Becasue when your swing speed increases the shaft is going to flex more and more and when that happens the ball flight is going to go higher and you are still going to go that 250 but you will have more spin. When you move up to a stiff flex you will have a lower more penetrating ball flight resulting in less spin and a longer drive. I currently have an x-flex on my driver because my stiff was getting too whippy and i would get imbedded balls with how much spin i had. As long as you think you have the swing speed you can move up to a stiff.
