Watching those old black and white clips on the golf channel. No spectator ropes, just sitting on apron of greens. Old rules regarding leaving flag stick in the holes e.t.c.  I liked the match play between Arnie and Gene Littler. Course conditions nothing like today. Their play not that much different than amateur's today in that they seem to miss greens also, but still score par or below. Still, occasional 300 yards with the old equipment. Fun to watch.

also hatless, no shirt logo's. Maybe no sponsors back then? They sure didnt make much money either, although a thousand dollars went a lot further.

Pretty weird seeing them driving cars (not carts) on the fairways and right up to the greens.

I've been to a few "old" tournaments and they were a lot less spectator restrictive. I used to go to The Desert Inn, and see Trevino, January, Rodriguez. I worked with the wife of one of the tour players in San Diego (Lennie Clements). We were both real estate brokers with the Corky Mcmillin companies. Lennie is also selling real estate in Coronado with his wife Jan now (or at least was a few years ago).
