My Pitching Wedge is 47 deg. I am thinking of buying a 54 deg sand wedge and a 60 deg L wedge.

1. are these the right lofts to buy?
2. Titleist give you the option of 10 or 14 deg of bounce for the 54 deg wedge. My swing is relatively on plane (i.e not overly shallow and not too steep - although with wedges everyone swings quite steeply) and I play in the UK (wet in Winter dry in Summer). WHICH BOUNCE SHOULD I CHOOSE?
3. The options for the 60 deg wedge is 4 or 8 deg bounce - I think I will choose 8 as 4 seems quite low?
4. Titleist do a 48 deg wedge - are there any benefits from replacing my PW that came with my Titleist 755 irons with a Vokey wedge?

many thanks

Hey there, I'll try to answer your questions as best as I could.

1. There's no "right" loft. There's only "your" loft. Everyone's different in their preferences and style of play. You need to know what your yardage is for each club and how good you are with manipulating swings. Technically, more variation of lofts can cover more distances with similar swings. So ask yourself, "What is my loft?" 2 & 3. For this I think you should get fitted with lie board and with a tape on the sole of the wedge (go find a clubfitter). See where the scratch is on the tape after you hit it. The proper one should be at the center. 4. I'm a firm believer that PW should match the irons set for consistency in feel, shape, etc. For me PW is a common name for 10-iron, not truly a wedge because I can still hit it over than 100 yards. Now, wedges are for short games and in my interpretation short game means 100 yards or less. This is just me and different people have different preferences. What's yours? Hope this helps.
