I hope I didn't mess up. I read several reviews about Tour Edge XCG7 three wood and thought I would give it a try as I mentioned previously. I was not careful in the reading however, and did not catch the fact that the Beta Model has a lower trajectory and in one case it states "Lower than what some guys prefer". The head size of the club is in the middle of the three offerings.

I finally got the opportunity to hit this 3 wood on the course and ran it through its paces. Not difficult to get off the deck, but you do have to be deliberate. I did not notice the trajectory being any lower than other 3 woods I have had in the past. Fairly straight, misses were low and to the right.  Good looking club at address. Not in the least bit distracting.  Coupled with the Scarlet Red  Tie Matrix Shaft, its a keeper.

The beta model had a Beta Ti face and the standard model has a steel face.

is that TI face, Titanium or a TI-Alloy?  431 Steel is the best, followed by true Ti. The  Ti-alloy is mostly aluminium and mostly used on beginner sets.

a little follow up. Although I recently acquired a Tour Edge Hot Launch 2 Driver and it performs well, I later got the XCG-7 Beta 3W and really like it, so as a companion piece to match, I have now ordered the XCG-7 (standard) driver. I guess I am pretty fickle when it comes to equipment changes. This latest acquisition which is currently in shipment, will have the Ozik White Tie shaft in a stiff flex, but since it is adjustable, I can always opt to replace it with regular or A flex, but I do not think I will have much trouble as I have found that for drivers, I really do not notice all that much difference. and if anything, the stiff shaft usually results in drives that are fairly straight, even though occasionally I may lose a little distance off the tee.  FWIW, for those who have been thinking of the anti slice characteristics of the HL2, it performs, but you need to be careful that a fade does not turn into a hook. Alignment is key. I prefer a "slightly" open stance at address which seemed counter-intuitive at first, but seems to yield the most consistent results. Oddly enough, I can draw with the open stance where one would think it would tend towards a fade. (Stance and path are not necessarily mutually inclusive).
