Protection for SkyCaddie SG4

I got a SkyCaddie SG4 for Christmas and got the Sky Golf Leather Holster (no belt clip) along with it. However, the device won't sit in the holster right without removing the battery cover and the holster doesn't seem to provide much protection - no padding and nothing to protect the screen. Basically, it is one of the poorest excuses for an accessory I've seen in quite some time.

So, here is a question for you SG4 owners. Have you found a generic or after-market case that provides more protection? Or perhaps one made for another device that has a similar form factor? I'm wanting to carry it on my belt and perhaps clip it to my bag also.

Any and all suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!

I have an SG3 (same case as the SG4). These models are based on the Magellan eXplorist 300 & 400 GPS units so pretty much any of the accessories for the Magellan eXplorist GPS units will work with the SG3 or SG4.

When I bought my SG3 last year they threw in the Sky Caddie leather case for free but I haven't used it for the reasons you cite. I did find a great neoprene case though and I use it all the time. It has a belt loop or can be hung from your golf bag -- that's what I usually do with mine, hang it from my bag.

i got a cart mount for mine and when i don't use it, i put it into a velvet sack with a draw string.santa was very nice this x-mas

I'm not 100% sure that's the same one I have so if you decide to order from this vendor, check with them to make sure it fits an SG-4 -- I'm sure they will know.

I also use the neoprene GPS case and it works great while walking. I also put some clear film (like iPod covering film) over the display to help protect it when I'm riding in a cart (it rides in a cup holder then).

Well one of my regular playing partners use their with a holder that attaches to their pullcart so no help there, but the device if I recall is about the same size as a smart phone isn't it? Maybe a belt clip treo case or something would work.
