I had a fitting friday,  Fairway Golf in San Diego. It took about an hour and a half, I hit lots of combinations.I had always played reg shafts so it was interesting to see how different combos affected my ball flight and how offset or lack of affects ball flight. I went in thinking 900 forged only because I hit the longer on a monitor about a month ago. Tried those, tried m2, ap1, hot metal 900 and some others. Settled on the Hot Metal with KBS C stiff, reg length 2 deg upright. Never thought I needed stiff, monitor said otherwise. One thing that stood out was how offset affected my dispersion. Offset or lack of doesn't look very significant when you look down at at address but no offset had me going left too much. Of course being in the 15 hcp range I do not have the most grooved swing either. So now I wait for the new clubs to arrive.......

I would have thought that offset would trend to the left. They advertise offset as a slice fixer. I know for mine, I have to be careful or my draw will easily turn into a hook.

I imagine it works both ways. I have the tendency to close the face a tad early so that minuscule amount of offset helps the face stay square.

Only thing I  can think of is the offset head works better with his set up.  Maybe it keeps his hands in the right position at impact vs. him manipulating and flipping the face shut to compensate?
