Lovely site, really nice to slide things back and forth. The only thing that may make it better is if they had the option to outline some of the holes on some of the older, really grainy photos or something.

Interesting site. I was a little taken aback at the screed about the Links Trust right off the bat. There are many "public" courses around here, and yet the public does not own them. The closest example is Mill Creek Park which belongs to the Metroparks District. I knew the greenkeeper there and he said his biggest headache was the Metroparks Board! They routinely voted down things he wanted to do to improve the course! Like cut down a few trees to improve sunlight and airflow at a particular green.

He finally had to go to a Board meeting and explain how much it would cost to replace if they lost the green. He got his permission, finally. These are "city" conservationists who see trees as monuments and not plants!

As for the Old Course, maybe they have a different definition of public than we do, but somebody has to be in charge! Sorry I went OT, but that just rubbed me the wrong way!
