I just started reading this book and I am wondering if anyone here had set up their clubs like Dave's chart in the equipment chapter....

15 yard spread on irons and 4 wedges ending in a 64 degree?

I have a 12 - 15 yard spread depending on swing type, and I have 4 wedges ending in 58°

I carry 3 wedges. 10 yard iron spread (3-PW). I think a 64* is a little unessecary(Mine are 47,54,60)

The 15 yard gap is good, except you are wasting A club with 64. It is never needed, just open your 60.

I'm lost here. Why is a 15 yard gap good? I had it in my head that a 10 yard gap is optimal in clubs. Although looking through the "What's in my bag?" pieces in

Golf Digest , 15 yard gaps seem common.

I do keep a 64* in my bag . have been in bunkers that ordinary wedges dont help a bit . Plus with lob shots with pin placements with bunkers in front gets the ball to stop.

Since we're roughly in the same area, which bunkers do I have to worry about? Where are they and what are they like?

Because I just got over my fear of bunkers and I don't want to face the ones you describe quite yet.

generally it's 10 yards between clubs. he made it 15 so you can take out 2 irons from you set and have 4 wedges 49/55/60/64. that's his idea.
