Ok. So been at this for a month I played the same course its a par 3 29.   I looked for the slope and course rating. I float between 42&47 for a score each week.   Do par 3's even have slope and course rating.  Do I need to know my handicap?

Welcome to the forum!

You can look up course rating and slope here https://ncrdb.usga.org/NCRDB/

If you just started out I wouldn't worry too much about handicap. I would just keep trying to improve.

Ok and thanks. I saw it asked for it on here and thought I I should know it. And what exactly is a handicap and does it change for each course?

Here is the intro information from the USGA

http://www.usga.org/content/usga/home-page/Handicapping/handicap-manual.html#!rule-14367

The handicap can stay the same for a while, or change drastically depending on the variance in scores from the golfer.

There is a difference between course handicap and handicap. The handicap is turned into a course handicap for competitions and such.
