Hi,

I am new to golf and have been watching some tournaments on TV. Could someone please explain what the third column of the “scoreboard” means? I am not sure how it relates to par until the end of a round when the number corresponds with the over/under in column two. While they are playing though I am not sure how to interpret it. I have attached a photo for clarification.

Thanks,

Max

57 means they finished. Sometimes it'll say "18" or "F" there.

17, 13, 16… that's the last hole on which they have a score. If the board says "13," they're currently on the 14th hole.

Aha! I thought it was the hole they had just played but was confused that certain groups both had the same hole listed. So I guess players get a little backed up waiting for players ahead of them? Thanks so much iacas.

A par four can easily have three groups on them. One putting out. One waiting in the fairway. One waiting on the tee.
