I've been Playing Golf for: 5 years on and off
My current handicap index or average score is: handicap 20
My typical ball flight is: very inconsistent

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Sometimes i strike the ball good but it is very inconsistent.I feel like my swing is completely off and feels rush and stiff and does  not look smooth at all.what could be my big problem here. When i get a good shot its always a push

First, welcome to The Sand Trap. You've come to the right place for help.

Below is a screen shot of your swing at A1, setup and A7 impact. You can see it is really hard to see much because you are so far away. The swing doesn't look too far off though. I would recommend filming your swing using the guideline in the link below. For Face on, get closer, film in landscape by turning the phone sideways and have it aim at the ball at about hand height. For down-the-line, have it aim along your toe line. Landscape is better for both because we can see the whole swing including the club. If your phone has slow motion video, use that. You can trim the video length down to be at set up just before the swing start and then at the end of the swing to reduce the size.

We look forward to your next videos.

Hello,

Thanks so much for the response. Please see below the two sing views.Looks like i am hitiing way before the ball rather than through the ball. Your thoughts.

Below are screen shots at A4, A7 and A8-9. The backswing looks pretty good, but if you work on your flexibility, it will get better. Item number 4 in this thread helps a lot. I do this drill daily. I am older, 58, and have to constantly work on flexibility.

What I really notice are two things that I have had to work on. First, you are not turning your hips much in the downswing. You have decent hip turn in the backswing (1st screenshot), but at impact (2nd screenshot), your hips are square. Better golfers have their hips more open at impact. Your arms coming down should move in unison with your hips turning. Watch the players at the Masters today and see how much more open they are at impact.

You can work on that by doing slow swings from the top through impact to A8, shaft parallel to ground after impact. Practice the way described in the thread below. You can even film the slow practice and post it here. Go up to the top of the backswing, and slowly swing through impact focusing on hips opening. At A8-9, the last screen shot, your hips should be pointing at the target. You can hit balls like this, but don't worry about ball flight at all. You'll shank then sometimes. But just focus on the drill.

The second thing I notice is exactly what I am working on right now. You trailing arm, right arm, is straightening a bit too soon. It is fully straight before impact. Ideally, you want it to still be bent a bit at impact. This feel is called 'pitch elbow'. In the same drill you are doing above, feel as if your elbow is staying bent well past impact. The right elbow should feel like it is moving down and out in front of you while still bent. At full speed, it will still straighten, but practicing it this way, along with your hip turn, will get you in better position at impact.

Post videos of you doing this drill.

Others may notice things to work on too.

Welcome to the site @tkirui.

I think you did hit before the ball on the FO video, but in the DTL video it looks like you hit ball first.

Did you feel like one shot had better contact or better ball flight than the other?
