Hi all

I am new to the forum having found it searching for some clues as to why a small change seems to be working for me!

I started playing golf again last year after a number of years off.  I play off 10 and can play to more or less depending if my two way miss comes into play (usually on the back nine after a good front nine!).

I have worked hard to try and fix it (on my own and with a pro but with no joy.

However, last night I went out for a few holes after work and took unwrapped my right trigger finger and held it off the club focusing on keeping it pointed down at the ground through the takeaway.  Playing two balls I was hitting a tiny fade with the driver and hitting all the fairways!  I did this for the last 5 holes and played on par with both....unheard of for me as usually I would hit one big hook or a big block somewhere!

A bit stunned and confused I tried finding some solid reasoning for this on the web but have struggled finding anything that would back why this has had such a good impact on my direction/consistency.

Any knowledge that can be shared would be appreciated.  Is this causing something in my swing path to change or would it stop my getting too handsy through impact so less timing needed?

sorry for the long post but I wanted to introduce myself a bit and give some background!

Cheers

Dan

    • I have one and look forward to trying this. I bought the Stack Radar and developed pretty severe tennis elbow, likely from a new workout program, prior to receiving it, and have not used it very much. Asa competitive person, I respond well to gamifying practice. That’s why I also love using the Stack putting app. Two great incremental benefits of the program.
