I bought a set of the above irons (in good condition and with original grips) recently and have tried Google etc, but haven't found out what year they were made, does anyone here know? Any information on the sweet spot etc also appreciated.

I cannot speak to Slazenger specifically, but it is my understanding that the small sweet spot on  older blades is located very near the heel/hosel. As for age, my best guess would be early 80's.

Out of curiosity, I searched on ebay and I saw several some as early as 1957 (Director), and others 1972 and 1973 (Apex). I also read a bio and there was no mention of any formal association with Slazenger.
