+1 for Chambers Bay

I think it would be the only way I would attend a major, having it in my own back yard.

by 2015, there should be some championship courses on the north shore of alaska worth considering by then

They will beat their swords into golf clubs and their spears into putters. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Old Tom Morris 2:4

I think the logistics of hosting the Open are so great now as well that many good and great courses are out because they lack the necessary infrastructure to handle what is required. In some ways thats a shame, but its business, tournament golf is a business and business are run to be profitable. There are just not that many options for the USGA to choose from. Bandon is in the middle of nowhere. A USGA needs much more than a great golf course to hold a US OPEN.

Don't want to sound greedy but in 6 years it might be Torrey or probably The Black again as they can handle 45,000 at Bethpage and money talks.

erin hills will be out for 2015 simply because the PGA Champ is up the street at Whistling Straits.

with two tracks in a row on the east coast, look for it to be on the west coast (again since the PGA is in the midwest).

so i suppose chambers bay could at least be somewhat legitimate, but i don't know too much about it...

harding park could be a darkhorse since it will have a presidents cup as a potential tune-up and still keep the whole "people's championship on a people's course" theme...

from the public tips it's only 6845 so the ole Open Doctor may have to make a visit...

plus the usga has visited similar areas within three years before (Olympic/Pebble; Shinnecock/Bethpage and even Congressional/Merion).

My question to this forum was answered today, the 2015 US Open has be awarded to Chambers Bay GC outide of Seattle. Congrats to the NW golf fans who have waited along time to get another major.

Chambers Bay was awarded the 2010 US AM and 2015 US OPEN

Those of us who live nearby like to point out Chambers Bay is outside of Tacoma, WA not Seattle. Seattle's an hour away.

I'm pretty sure an hour away from the city is outside of it. And trust Chambers Bay WILL be called outside of Seattle.
