Golf Channel UK

So in January i thought i'd flick on The Golf Channel UK (Sky Satellite ch423) and I was surprised to see Arsenal FC TV instead on 423! I went through the 700 odd channels and nothing!

I didn't think much about it - it was winter - but when I miss the PGA Tour at nighttime (5-7 hours behind us) I used to love getting all the highlights and scores in a neat 30 minute slot. In Golf World UK Magazine (March/Poulter issue) i read:

On why they (TGC UK) ceased broadcasting in January: "Cost of good quality programming, the lack of availability of good programming and rights and the commercial revenues that were projected over the coming years."

Digital Demise In a few quiet moments on New Year's Day I tried flicking to Channel 423, as one does, to allow some undemanding golf tuition to wash over me. Imagine my horror to discover that the Golf Channel UK was not only unavailable but has been pulled completely from the digital offering. Farewell then to the incomparable Rick Smith, Bandle Chamblee, Stehpanie Sparks, Big Break and Double D, Rich Lerner et al. No more Dave Pelz and Perfy, no more finding your own putting rhythm, wobbly "O" balls and path versus face angle. No more Dean Reinmuth trying to get that pilot with the biggest slice on the planet to break 90. Adios the LPGA highlights. Bye bye Jim McLean and your death zones. Goodnight Tiger and you 2005 clinic. These people were my friends for heaven's sake. Clearly there wee too few of "me" out there to warrant the channel continuing, but those of you who weren't watching missed out, believe me Gary Waddup, Tooting Bec

I'd say the arrival of Setanta Golf Channel didn't help the cause - thankfully i have that channel but it doesn't give you the nice summary on a Sunday morning before your 4-ball and after a night out!

Anyone else missing it?

Yeah. I'm missing it really bad. I used to watch the LPGA on it all the time.

I don't have Setanta hopefully will be getting it sometime, though.
