If Joe is waiting to hit, that means you're teeing off first, which should mean you're winning. Well, unless you're in the fairway and he's out driven you by a mile! 

I simply don't understand the attitude that wishes not to compete! It seems almost inhuman to me! 

When growing up we were raised to compete! Yes, true competition compared to "funzies" are two different things, but one should have the capacity to recognize that, 

And if the OP can't handle "the needle" provided by his playing  opponent, it indicates to me that he has led a sheltered life! When my buddies and I play, we needle each other constantly.
