Going to Charlotte for work next week Feb 19-21, and will have time to play in the morning on 2/21. Couple of questions for anyone from that area, what kind of weather to expect that time of year, and also, any good public courses that aren't going to burn a hole in my pocket? Any feedback would be much appreciated!

I am relocating to the area... I will be going down there for a preliminary visit the last week of February and first week of March.

Rockey River is great... just North of Charlotte and in Concord...

Ballantyne is supposed to be good...

A little further north, the Warrior is nice, excellent greens.

Birkdale is supposed to be good...

Vedict Ridge is supposed to be the most visually stunning, but it is also a fairly tough from what I hear...

I used to live in Mooresville, NC, which is about 20 miles north of Charlotte. I have played Rocky River a few times and absolutley love that course. I am not sure but I think they have played a few Senior Tourneys there. Its a challenging course that I think you will enjoy. Birkdale is also a good course for a change of pace, but Rocky River is fantastic.
