I am fairly new to golf and I have a cheap set of golf clubs. I am developing my swing and I've been told its decent for a beginner. My problem is that I often hit thin or off the toe, sometimes missing or rolling on top of the ball. There's alot to be done with my swing but I'm 6'6" and I think my clubs are possibly too short. I cant afford a custom fitted set and I don't want to waste the time on cheap clubs. I found some Cleveland CG4 irons with a taylormade r7 driver for 75 bucks and I could add 1 to 1.5 inches to them. What are your thoughts?

There are places that will give a free fitting if you purchase a set of clubs is one thing. As for your swing we really need to see your swing. 6’6 means it’s very possible you need longer than standard length clubs or longer than what you’re playing. Create a post  in the ‘My Swing’ thread of your swing. Just film a down the line and face on. Upload it to YouTube then copy/paste the link in that post. There are other reasons for your thin/top shots that may have nothing to do with the length of your clubs. Hope this helps. Cheers.

    • This isn't going to show you lateral dispersion at all. It's basically just a radar (for speed) launch monitor. It doesn't measure spin or anything like that. Not even launch direction.

    • Interesting changes. The idea of relegation and promotion have always been there in a different form (getting and losing your card etc and qualifying for bigger events) but it looks like they want to define it better for top tier events. The Tour has always had A and B level events (and even lower). It will be interesting what they choose as the Challenger Series events and whether some tournaments go to the Challenger Series that used to be prestigious. Not sure how the networks will take to this knowing they have “Challenger” Series events defined that way now. Also, I’m not happy that John Henry and Theo Epstein are involved. Look what Henry has done to the Red Sox.
