True ...but as they say "it's not how, it's how many" You have to have some sort of quik fix when you are on the course and your game goes to S..T. It may also be your clubs, shafts to weak or too strong.

You understand that a slice comes from cutting across the ball. Most people think that you have to compensate by opening your stance. In fact you need to use a hook stance to over come the cutting across the ball. Take your regular square stance. Then move your left foot foreward 2 inches. Not wider, closed. Leave everything else the same. you now have a fade stance. It will feel wierd and you will try to waggle yourself back to noem but you have to try it. Works with everyone i show once they relax and let it happen.

ever heard the phrase, "you get what you pay for"?

I see that a shorter putter needs to be heavier than the longer one. I play a Bettinardi BB8 33" right now that I put 2 strips of lead tape along the bottom and it seems to work better. It works but I don't understand the concept. can anyone explain the math?

I think a lot of the feel comes from the combination of ball and putter. I prefer the soft ball and hard putter combo. Right now I'm playing a Bettinardi BB 8 and Nike platinum and it's a good combo for me. Where in IL?

Which Wedge Do You Use Most Often?
sandtrap replied to FutureSound's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
The gap is the most usefull club in the bag. Full shots, half shots, chips, flops and spinners oh my. The 60 is the pretty girl that wants nothing to do with you so leave it alone and your feeling won't be hurt. -
Buying a brand new wedge, should I get it bent?
sandtrap replied to elivate's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I say get it bent . I like the fact that it reduces the bounce. Crisper shots baby! -
Scotty Cameron Circa Charcoal Mist
sandtrap replied to Chambo's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have the #1 in mist and #3 in black, the charcoal mist is more durable, but in my opinion the black looks nicer but is more likely to rust. the ironic thing is the #2 is better suited to my eye. So who knows when I stumble on a good deal I'll be adding it to my collection -
690.cb user looking to move to "cut muscle" irons
sandtrap replied to prutkows's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
All of this aside, sometimes you just have to go with your instincts and try a set of what you want. Buy yourself a set of used blades and prove it to yourself. Golf clubs are not a life time commitment, for most of us anyway. I played Wilson staff blades then the original Big Berthas then a different set or 2 a year for the last 20 years. The only thing I can tell you for sure is. No 2 sets are the the same and what fits the other guys who post here no matter how cool will fit you the same. Play what looks good and feels good when compared to others in the net. Experiment -

so how bad was it when you sent it in? did they grind and rehab the thing or just cote it? -
I read an article in Golf week last night that Angel was chain smoking at the US Open and that at next years US open there will be a no smoking rule in all parks and ...... What do you guys think of that? Hasn't this gone to far when you can't enjoy a smoke, outside on a golf course, when virtually alone?

I once had grips that were to big and I couldn't get the right wrist snap and my ball did a push slice. You will know once you start hitting them.

the hard covers are the safest but they are pain when you get to your destination. To big and bulky. The soft ones work great just take Eriks advice and pack the heads with towels. I also put my shoes under the heads. if you travel with a bag with lets. put it in the travel bag with the legs up. with the legs down you risk them getting broken when the airline guys are throwing them around.

How about the old fashioned 150 yard marker or sprinkler head or educated guess?

It just goes to show what a gentlemans game it is. At some point someone probably did something like that for him and at some point you will be able to do it for someone else. Have you seen the movie Pay it forward? We should all do a good deed for a stranger and the world would be a better place. The balls are a great idea BTW.

I see that you list a 25 handicapp and are having trouble getting airborn. I would suugest the Clevelaand launchers. pretty easy to hit and not painfulll when his hit. A bunch of the other brands make great ones as well. I'm also a big fan of the Titleists but if you mis it's ugly.

I don't mark my ball mostly because I think it looks tacky and mars my new pearl. However I will use the "oneplatinum" to give me a lline to hit the ball along. I do believe you should look at the hole and concentrate on were you want the ball to end up. In the hole. Much like if you think about the lake you will hit it in the lake. The toughest 9 inches in golf is between your ears. have possitive thoughts and good things will happen. let's all meditate now. oooooowwwwmmmmm

It's hard to compare 32 year old irons on distance. The lofts on them were weaker. Also in 32 years the shafts have come a long way. Besides the shafts fatigue and lose playability. I'm sure he would love the MP60 it's just important to hit the different shaft options to find the one that fits him. Most proshops have a Mizuno fitting set

Learn to do it yourself and you save money, it's fun and you will be on the road to working on your own clubs. Lengthen shorten take a grip off and reuse it. It's fun and it gets you away from your wife

I ask why wouldn't you? I love the 52 into any up slope green. You can hit your chips a little harder and they check up nice. the game has changed with the new balls and clubs. it used to be hit the driver low and the wedges high, Now it's hit driver high and wedges low. A low wedge better have some spin.

I don't think the vokeys are as deep take a look at this web site for pictures http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/lofive...hp/t84886.html

If it's really your all-time fav then get your nick name or initials put on it . You won't want to sell it and Scotty will always have a terrific resale. the proof is that you are willing to spend $75 for a beat-up club that with any other name on you wouldn't spend $5. Enjoy my boy and remember to use protection when you get it back

I recently purchased a set of Gauge Design GAS II 52 and 58 wedges. I read about them in one of the dozen golf magazines as a hot item. From what I've learned gauge is a putter maker in CA. Anyway I looked all over and then called the manufacturer and was told to get these I would have to contact someone in Japan. A search of ebay got me a set from Tokyo. You need to check these things out. The face is milled with a circul;ar pttern that stops the ball on a dime. Throw the ball on the slickest of greens and it stops dead. They are however hell on balls. Anyone esle tried these?

I ran into the same situation with the lack of a 52 vokey. the solution is to buy a 54 and have it bent to 52. The bending reduces the bounce and it's a nice club. I think the bending was like $2.50
