  1. I agree that it likely has to do with weight shift or flipping. I know for myself, it's usually weight shift. If I allow my weight to get to the outside of my back foot in my backswing, or don't transfer the weight properly to my front foot in the downswing I start hitting it fat. I find I have a tendency to do it much more often when I'm tired. If I just focus on keep the weight on the inside of my feet during my backswing/coil I have more success. Good luck to you, and let us know if you find something that helps
  2. I like Ryan Moore this year at Augusta, although it's too early to put any money on it. I'll have to see how he plays the next few weeks.
  3. I'm interested to hear feedback from everyone on this as ball positions is one thing that I really struggle with. I'm usually pretty good at getting it in the right spot with my driver, I just struggle with the iron positioning. I can't wait until the weather here in Michigan breaks and the grass ranges open. I find it much easier to work on ball position on grass ranges than on mats due to being able to see and analyze divots
  4. Thanks for the input. I'm glad to hear that as funds are low for me this year. Do you and your friend purchase the highest grade?
  5. Mine is "anchor." It reminds me to keep my weight on the insides of my feet as I turn back and coil, and not allow my weight to sway to the outside of my backfoot. It also reminds me that my feet are my anchor to the ground and I need to use my feet/legs against the ground to generate power
  6. Are you still getting a high amount of spin from your mpt 10s? I practice/play a decent amount, but I wouldn't say a lot. Anyone have any experience with groove sharpeners?
  7. I'm looking to purchase some new wedges and looking for opinions. Two years ago I bought Mizuno MP-R's. I absolutely LOVE the feel of the clubs, but was VERY disappointed at how quickly they wore out and lost spin. I have read some reviews on the MPT-10's and it seems like they've improved the spin. I guess I have a few questions: 1. Has anyone hadthe MPT-10's for a while that can attest to the life and quality of them? 2. Does anyone have any recomendations for wedges that have good spin and will not wear out in half a season 3. Does anyone have any experience with groove sharpeners? I have considered purchasing a groove sharpener for my current wedges but don't want to ruin them Thanks in advance for your thoughts and opinions
  8. I haven't traveled much outside of Michigan, but within the state the three best I've played in order are: 1. Arcadia Bluffs 2. Elk Ridge 3. Detroit Golf and Country Club Like I said, haven't travled much, but from what I've heard and read Arcadia Bluffs holds up against any course in the country. I personally can't imagine a course getting much better than that.
  9. That's awesome. I have a big unfinished basement, and this would be perfect in my basement. Just out of curiousity, and if you don't mind me asking, how much did this cost you?
  10. I wish I had a deal like that near me, I'd go for it in a heartbeat. Of course I guess it depends on the quality of the facilities, but as long as they can provide an ample opportunity for you to practice and improve your game, I'd say go for it.
  11. I tend to play to my level of competition, good or bad. I usually like to play with at least one person that is better than me so I can have someone to compete with and try to bring out the best in me
  12. You can hit balls from the ground or from the tee. If you want to hit off the ground you just knock the ball off the tee and onto the mat and hit it. Their is a sensor that detects if there is a ball on the tee or not, and if their isn't it retrieves another ball. So as soon as you knock the ball off the tee it goes and gets another one.
  13. Has anyone ever bought high-end balls from one of these places? I prefer to play proV1's or B330's, but with funds being tight this year I'm looking to save money, so am considering buying recycled but I'm nervous about the quality and wasting my money
  14. I REALLY like having the automated tees just because I can choose to hit as few or as many golf balls as I'd like. Whenever I buy a bucket I always feel pressured to hit the entire bucket. Some days I only feel like, or have time to hit 30-50 balls. Other days I want to hit upwards of 200. I like having that flexibility. Plus, where I go the tee is adjustable in very small increments so I can get the tee height right where I want it.
  15. I always enjoy the early part of the season because I get the chance to play courses that I wouldn't normally play. I'm willing to pay the cheaper spring rates, but not some of the more expensive summer rates
  16. Been playing on and off since I was a kid, and never had an ace. Been close a few times, but never made it. Had two REALLY close calls last year, on the same hole. The only two times I played the course all year. Maybe I should've played it more and I would've found the hole.
  17. 1. Get my handicap below 10 2. Practice at least 5 hours per week 3. Improve game from inside 80 yards 4. Improve lag putting to eliminate three-putts 5. Break 80 on any of my three "regular" courses
  18. Hello and welcome! I'm from Michigan as well. Get up every morning and watch the weather anticipating that someday the weather will warm up consistently and we'll be able to golf.
