  1. Does anyone know the difference between Tiger's ball and the ONE Platinum?
  2. I was like that last night. I just started hooking everything massively with my irons. 100 yards out and I was hooking the ball to a different fairway.
  3. For a 58* try to get one with standard/high bounce. Maybe 8-10*
  4. How forgiving are the RAC's?. My local store is selling 3-Pw for £199 so I was thinking about giving them a try.
  5. 6 days a week now it's summer. In spring and autumn probably twice a week and in Winter just the once.
  6. I only started playing golf at Chrismas and in April I got my first handicap of 36. I have already cut it by seven strokes so my goal for Chrismas is to have it below 20.
  7. I play on four courses mainly. Crieff: I am a member here so rounds are free, but visitors pay £40 ($80) for a round on the championship course and £16 ($32) for 18 holes on the 9-hole course. Comrie: £20 ($40) for 18 holes. Culcrieff: £23 ($46) for 18 holes. I play at Crieff about four or five times a week, simply because I don't have to pay. I play at Comrie and Culcrieff about once a month each but now I'm on holiday that'll probably increases.
  8. See if you can register it here: https://my.callawaygolf.com/productregistration.aspx
  9. On the basis of this advice I decided to buy a box of NXT Tours. I haven't noticed much of a difference in length between them and the Callaway Warbirds I have been using but around the greens the difference is phenomenal. I'm a 29 handicap and I shot 25-over today, not bad for £18.
  10. Take a look at the Cleveland CG4's. They are designed for mid-high handicaps but still are fairly workable. They are not too expensive at about $400 for 3-PW. Adams A2 iron set are the same price but feature 2 hybrids instead of the 3 and 4 irons. Taylormade's RAC HT irons don't feature any hybrids but are forgiving and fairly cheap, at around $275-450. Anyway just take a look around online, then when you have a rough idea of what you want, try to find a place where you can try the irons out.
  11. There are a few sets that I would suggest trying out. Mizuno MX-25 Callaway X-20 or X-20 Tour (The tours have less offset and are more workable) Titleist 775 or 755 (The 775's are more forgiving and the 775's more workable) Cleveland CG2 (The CG1's probably don't offer enough forgiveness for a 17 handicapper) Nike CCI (I've heard the forged version feels better but have not personally tried either set.) Ping G5 It also depends on how much you want to spend. The Clevelands are a little cheaper than the others. Anyway the best idea is to visit a place where you can try the clbs and see what you like the best.
  12. I know a few people who think they average 270+ but when measured with GPS it turns out at about 240. Anyway at least I know I don't drive the ball very far. I can deal with that though. Just because I hit a ball 280 once on a downwind, downhill hole with dry fairways doesn't mean I'm going to tell everyone I hit it 280. On average I hit it 210-220. On saturday I was playing a hole against the howling wind and rain, uphill and my drive measured 170 which I was happy with, despite the hole being a 460 yard par 4. Needless to say I got a triple bogey on that hole
  13. Tommy shot a 69 in the final round to win by three shots.
  14. I just played a really easy course today. I'm a 36 handicap and shot a 41/43 in which everything just sort of clicked.
  15. www.crieffgolf.co.uk It's a very nice club with two courses that I just joined this year. The 18 hole championship course is 6500 yards and the 9 hole course is 2400 yards. The green fee's for visitors aren't cheap though. In high season (June-August) a round on the 18 hole course is £40 ($75) and £58 ($105) if you hire a buggy.
  16. Yeah, definetely distance. I know ONE person out of everyone I have ever played with who can consistently hit the ball 300 yards. He didn't even boast about it. I know I'm lucky to get near th 250 mark with my drives, I average about 210 on a good day. However it is funny playing with the guy that can hit it 300 and two others who say they can. They step on the first tee hit their shots and say "That's easily 300". Then the other guy steps up and knocks it 70 yards past them. Absolutely price
