  1. Perhaps he will win one (like Michael Campbell for example ;)), but he will not be a dominant figure if he throws away a ~7 shot lead. Nicklaus has never lost such a lead at a major. But like I said, I don't think he will lose this Open.
  2. If Rory doesn't win this time, he will never win a major. But I think he will win it, the way he played the last two days was just magical. Although don't forget what happend to Toms at Colonial, he had a similar lead after the second round and it all was gone after the third. And at the US Open that can happen even faster.
  3. He's playing lights out, but I wonder in which round he will shoot his usual major-80? 2. round at the open, 4. round at the masters, perhaps this time its the 3. round ;)
  4. His tweets are hilarious http://twitter.com/#!/andres_gonzales
  5. Woods played in 14 PGA Tour events from 1992-1996 as an amateur. In this span, he made 5 cuts, with his best finish and sole top-25 performance coming at the 1996 British Open. This brings his total tally of PGA Tour events played to 271, his total number of cuts made to 254, and his total number of top-25 finishes to 222. (source Wikipedia) If you don't count the events as an amateur, he played 257 and made 249 cuts --> ~97% of cuts made, 86% in the top-25
  6. Martin Kaymer is my pick
  7. I have no problem with anyone trying out my clubs. I even let some of my non-golfing friends use them, if they want to hit some balls on the range (probably once a year). One of them put a skymark on my fairly new driver, but that doesn't bother me, because it doesn't effect the club at all. I can understand why someone doesn't let someone else hit the driver. But I don't get the problem with irons, what could happen to them?
  8. I've once had a acl rupture and had no problem walking/going up stairs. There are some moves you can't do, but just to walk is no problem. To twist and turn was the problem. So you can't judge from normal walking to doing sport, that's a huge difference
  9. Dude.... it was an injury. He was playing bad, because he was injured, so your statement makes 0 sense. Regarding Duval, I doubt he can win a major. But more improbable things have happend bevore.
  10. You shouldn't forget that Tiger was in a slump too after he switched to Harmon after his first Masters win. And we all know what happend after that slump, so give him some time
  11. I can't believe there are actually people who say that Tiger is faking his injury, why should he?... How much hate do you have in you? I hope he can recover until the US Open or better the Memorial.
  12. I usually play with: Driver, 5 wood, 5-9 irons, pw, sw, putter = 10 clubs If its important I'll add a 3 wood and a 4 iron, but rarely use them
  13. I don't know how a lesson in course management should give me extra yards? A lesson with a pro about posture, stance, grip etc. will help alot of course. But new (fitted) clubs will give you some yards, course management "only" will save you some strokes (but won't add length).
  14. Why should they be scared? Tiger hasnt won for more than a year. It's just absurd, that the journalists are still asking those questions... But I want to see what they say/do as soon as he gets his first W. And I think this whole fear factor is blown out of proportion. He hasn't won everything before, and he never will.
  15. Here's the video of Phil (last year's bmw championship, quality is bad), a putt would have been better i guess.
  16. You are all a bit harsh on the caddie. Of course he didn't looked good, but I think it was the first time he was in such a situation, and just like the player, he didn't know how to act. And then you go on and say how good Kevin played on after the accident, still shooting 80. But if the 16 was the caddie's fault, then why isn't it the caddie's achievement, that they rebounded so well? They are a team. You can blame both, but just talking the caddie down is unfair.
  17. This sunday really had everything! Tiger's early charge, Schwartzels hole outs and impressive last 4 holes, Rorys meltdown, an awful lot of contenders.... Hell, even a broomstick was there This should set the tone for the upcoming months and majors.
  18. Its really cool to watch the golf and chat about everything going on, I had a good laugh, there were lots of great jokes and funny moments! I will be there next time as well
  19. I go with Tiger (-14)
  20. Royal Aberdeen is a true beauty, best (and toughest) course i've ever played. Especially the first 9 is spectacular, so don't forget your camera Make sure you bring jacket and tie to get access to all the rooms in the clubhouse. Otherwise you can have a drink at the bar, but cant enter the lounge. Cruden Bay is in the same category, also a very nice course. And as mentioned before, rainggear is necessary, you probably won't play a full round without some rain. (Unfortunately I haven't played any of the St. Andrews courses yet, because the only time I was there, was during the '10 open)
