  1. I have been contemplating switching from my current wedges, 52 & 56, to 54 & 60. Is there a reason why you are seeing people putting the 58 in the bag instead? I would think you would have a better range in distances with a 60.
  2. I would trust golfsmith over Ebay. To me, it would be worth it to pay a little extra. There are to many counterfit clubs on ebay.
  3. Anyone join Golf Nation in Palatine? A buddy of mine told me about it. Sounds like a cool concept. Golfnation.us is the web site. I wish it was closer to me.
  4. I don't usually count putts per round or GIR but I marked "bad" as I miss way to many easy short putts. It is something I need to focus on for '08.
  5. 2 perfect shots, driver 280 and 3 wood 250, would still put me 10 yards short of the green. I have a hard time believing all the 15 + handicappers getting there in 2.
  6. I have 3 now. PW, 52 and 56. I'm debating the addition of a Lob wedge and dropping the 52. I have to work on my PW first. Currently, full swing PW is 135 yards and 3/4 swing is 125 yards. If I could figure out 115, than I'd drop the 52 and add a 60. I am debating though as the two best golfers I know, my dad (2 handicap) and a local pro, both do not use the lob and are great short game players with their sand wedges.
  7. I have walked with a caddie on a business trip. It was a great way to golf (especially when I didn't have to pay ) When I am paying, I like to walk, carrying my own bag, but usually end up riding as the guy's I play with like to ride.
  8. Marmion Cadets-'97 Aurora, IL. Loras College-'01
  9. I really hope so. I love seeing ND lose
  10. I will give myself a C for now as I am close to acheiving 2 important goals, break 80 for the first time and have a single digit handicap. I have improved to a 10.2 from a 13 and I have flirted with 79 twice. I havn't broken 80 because I have not met my practicing goals that I set for myself each week. I haven't been putting as much as I should I am not hitting the range as much as I should be. Season isn't over yet though!
  11. My low is an 81. High score was a 101.
  12. I love my Chocolate lab. I really like the look of a French Mastiff though. Some day I'd like to own one.
  13. I had problems with my wedges and two things helped me. Setting my hands slightly forward before I started my swing and taking the club to between a 3/4 and full swing. I noticed much better, consistent contact and I didn't loose any distance. My problems were mostly getting under the ball but these two changes helped my club connect with the ball before the grass so it could help you as well.
  14. Oops..I didn't read the article, just assumed it was to shorten the back swing...that does seem hokey.
  15. Agreed. Look at how long JB Holmes can hit his drives and he doesn't take the club all the way back.
  16. I had a hard time getting the ball in the air with my driver at the beginning of the year. I took lessons and found out that I didn't have an spin tilt away from the target. When I did tilt, I got the ball in the air. I think that the tilt away from the target is essentially what the "O" factor is. If it is the same thing, this did a lot for my game.
  17. That is some serious length on those clubs! I switched this year from graphit to steal, X-20 tours, and I had no problem doing so. I feel like I have better control with the steel and I didn't loose much distance.
  18. Does anyone know where to watch the golf online? The PGA tour's coverage of the last three holes is not on anymore.
  19. I have a 21* to replace my 2 iron. I hit it farther than my 3 iron.
  20. Treetops in Michigan. This will be the third year, my first year, that it has been organized. They have a trophy that is called "the green jacket". It has enough space to engrave the low gross winner for the next 16 years. Hopefully we will be able to keep it going that long.
  21. I have enjoyed walking more this year than in years past.
  22. I subscribe to Golf only because when I decieded to order a golf magazine, they had the best deal. My dad get Digest and they seem to have bigger name's for their articles like Tiger, Butch and Leadbetter. That hasn't swade me to switch magazines though.
  23. Those greens were slick! A couple of buddies and I went out and watched a few holes out there. You could feel how firm the greens were just walking across them.
  24. Chip shot with my sand wedge from 50-70 yards that checks up next to the cup.
  25. Does anyone have information or thoughts on the feel of a putter when it comes to firm or soft? I currently have a putter that has a soft feel and I like it. I have tried putters at stores with a firm feel and I didn't prefer it. Are there benefit's/limitations to both of these or does this just come down to personal preference? Do the better putters on the tour favor one over the other? I tried the Scotty Cameron Circa 62 #5 (with the charcoal mist finish) and I didn't really like it because it felt more like a firmer feeling putter. Do all of the Circa 62's and Newports have a firm feel? I think that is enough questions for one thread
