  1. i admit it... i'm a nike fanboy. but as everyone says, you gotta like the look of the club when you're staring down at the ball! i think it just adds up to more confidence.
  2. i was a ps fanboy too for the longest time, but i finally got the 360... and until EA starts making their sports games in 60 fps for the ps3, i'm going to continue playing thr 360. it just looks so much better. the problem is that most games available on both systems are written for the 360 and then ported out to the ps3, so the games will always look better on the 360... unless of course it's a ps3 exclusive game.
  3. Regarding lessons... up until last summer, I had never swung a club before, so I wanted to learn how to swing properly. I've now been taking lessons pretty consistently for about a year, and it's amazing how much I've learned about the golf swing, chipping, course management, etc. Maybe a year is too long for lessons, but I would suggest getting at least more than one or two because you can pick up some bad habits practicing that are a lot harder to correct as time goes on... especially if you really wanna learn the game the correct way. Some of my friends' swings are horrible, and I'm really glad I took the time to learn from a pro instead of teaching myself. just my 2 cents...
  4. Yes, this putter is amazing. It's so heavy that you really feel in control of the ball. If I'm not mistaken, it's on closeout from last year, so you should be able to find some great deals online. I got mine from Edwin Watts for like 100 bucks (compared to $180 last summer)!
  5. it's funny actually... i was with a co-worker of mine, and he tested both drivers as well as the R7 460. he ended up liking the R7 460 better than the new ones! obviously, it's a matter of opinion, but 2 of my friends also got the R7 460 and absolutely love it.
  6. Nike, of course.
  7. you can get last year's nike sasquatch for $199 or less all over the internet.
  8. I'm an Indiana grad, so I gotta say Big Ten.
  9. I started playing last summer and have found that hybrids are amazingly easy to hit. My instructor who's a former pro suggested I try them out, and they've really helped my game get going. Eventually, I'd like to get better with the longer irons, but I think they can instill some confidence when you're playing with more experienced players. Personally, I love the Nike CPR3 Woods... they're a little older and can be found pretty cheap now. But, it's all about just trying out some clubs and seeing what you like!
  10. Yeah, I do all other sports left-handed, so I didn't really think twice about golf. I just think it's funny how the left-handed section of clubs at golf stores are about 1/4th the size of the righty section! I haven't had trouble finding clubs I like though.
  11. I just got into the game and am obsessed with it! Before last summer, I had never swung a club, so I started taking lessons last July and now always try to find the time to keep working at it. I'm a lefty too and really had no idea how much the sport was dominated by right-handers!? Anyway, this is a great site! Thanks!
  12. Tiger IS the man.
  13. I'm just starting out, so I don't have a true home course. I've only played this one once, but besides my awful score, the course is amazing. http://www.angelesnational.com/
  14. Hey everyone! I'm a new golfer at the age of 31... by day, I'm a movie trailer editor out in Los Angeles.
