Get a birdy -- not yet. I'm getting more chances, though. Just started in June and I'm getting better :) Go a round without a 3-putt -- went 9 holes without a 3 putt. Don't lose a ball for a single round -- 27 consecutive holes w/o losing a ball. Overall a pretty good year for me. Extremely optimistic about next year.

Actually, the Bobby Jones hybrid is the best out there. I had a chance to buy one at a store in Las Vegas, but passed on the oppurtunity. I used the money to get my 7 wood and my SW. I have room for one more club in my bag [3 wood has a stiff shaft and cant swing it], so I'm looking for a hybrid too.

Haha yeah man I agree with you 100%. Once your muscles start to remember how you were doing a bad swing, it'll be extremely hard to break that habit.

Anyone in the Seattle, WA area want to play this Saturday?
trutrojan8 replied to a topic in Golf Talk
mm.. if I lived in that area, I'd want to go with you. You seem like a very cool guy. Good luck with finding someone :) -
If you make a tee time, you dont always have to go due to bad weather, etc. Just call and say I think the weather's going to be bad, can you please cancel my tee time [if you already have one made, of course]. If you pay already and the weather starts acting up, you can ask for a rain check, which is basically a free round of golf credited to you.

I actually started losing some of my Nike SFT 2 Distance, so I bought some used balls at my proshop today for $.50 each. They had Titleist in there, so im like idc what kind they are, they've got to hit good. I shot, one of my best rounds, a 45, using just one ball. I really dont think you'll feel a difference if its a Titleist Pro V1, or a recycled [sp] golf ball in your current stage of the game, so I'd play with some really cheap balls untill you get the feel for the game. Once you start losing less balls per round, start getting some more expensive, and just keep climbing the ladder. But right now I dont think a beginner will feel any difference.

Nike makes great clubs.. my SW I bought from them maybe a week or 2 ago is just an awesome club, especially for beginners.

I'm tryout out for my HS team too.. Need to shoot approx 100 on a par 72 course.. which I've been doing consistantly [96, 97, 98 was my worst score], but I'm still nervous as hell.

I was actually did that today on purpose.. I was golfing HORRIBLY. Absolutely horrible. A 50 through 8 holes on a par 32 front 9. It was just terrible. I ended up parring the last hole actually, and ended up getting a 94 on the day [53 and 44]. The reason I was doing soo poorly was because I was bringing it back like a baseball swing, and not a golf swing. Once my dad noticed it, it was all down hill. My highest score for one hole on the back 9 was a 6 on a 600 par 5. Still havent gotten a birdy yet, though :(

Oh man.. what's it called.. they have so many golf courses: one with British Open inspired holes, but I forgot the name.
-
Ouch man.. that must really suck. On Monday, when I was playing on a par 5, one of the straps on my bag snapped. I was soo pissed, ended up getting like an 8. Going to dicks sporting goods this weekend to get a new one [hopefully they still have the Nike Sasquatch bags.. Saw a guy the same day with one. Looked soo sweet.]

Thats insane.. I did the same thing, 150 yard par 3, pulled out my 8 iron, came maybe 10 feet short. That was my shot of hte day [on tuesday]

I was told to go under a shelter. That's what they made them for. Trees are closer to the sky, and are more likely to get hit. There was some lightning a couple weeks ago at a golf course I was playing at. However, living in Colorado, I'd thought it'd pass over in about half a minute. I was wrong, but luckily the clubhouse was right by it. I got a raincheck. In other kinda-related news, someone got stuck with lightning last week. I dont know if they were on the golf course or not.

Hmm.. I'd have to say my 2nd shot on the first hole last thursday.. Hit my drive into the rough, only went about 150 because it hit some trees.. but it got a nice bounce and didnt have any trees in front of it. So, I pulled out my 3 iron, and sliced the ball around the trees and almost made it onto the green. Overall I think I bogey'd that hole. Oh well.

Awesome! Let me update my signature now...

Before you do that; check at your dicks sporting goods [if you have one]. They had http://www.golfsmith.com/products/246602L 2 dozen for $25.

Haha yeah man. Me too.. except a Nike and a Callaway Warbird. Really gotta get sommore this weekend, especially with tryouts being in a few weeks.

Shot a 76 on a par 64.. it was easily my best round ever. It's a real short course but still my goal for today was to break 90. Even though it was a 4508 yard course, i'm still extremely happy.
-
A 44 on a par 35 course.. my best yet
-
Was shooting 14 through 3 holes yesterday [on pace for my best], but I got rained out :(
-
Yeah.. I'm still new at golfing, so I can hit my 3 iron about 125 or so, but it's my best club in terms of accuracy (other than my driver).
-
Today I had a 98.. first time I've ever played 18 [played 9 about 5 or 6 times].. 50 then 48 on a 70.0 rated course, par 71. So, I was 27 over par, but, I did get my first ever par, and I got 2 today, backk to back [par 5, and par 4 on holes 6-7].

Best Mid Price Ball?
trutrojan8 replied to Big Don's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
yeah, I was using that ball today. I lost 3 of them [2 in the same lake], but it was a great ball. -
I'm desperately in need of a new hybrid. Right now I have $110, but my dad says he'll pay for some of it. The most we'd be willing to spend is about $150, or so. These are the hybrids I was looking at: http://www.golfsmith.com/products/TM5615 http://www.golfsmith.com/products/PG5025 http://www.golfsmith.com/products/NK905 http://www.golfsmith.com/products/TM7520 http://www.golfsmith.com/products/NK1105 http://www.golfsmith.com/products/TM7520 Any other suggestions? Which of the clubs I listed would be the best for a new guy golfing? Thanks for any help.
