  1. I use a PC and have been very happy with it. I haven't used a Mac since college so I can't make a current comparison. I do know this......He who pays for the computer, gets to choose.

    Michael Vick

If I had an employee who was indicted on federal charges similar to Vick's, I would certainly suspend him/her until the charges were resolved.
  3. Bought the SG3 last week and I'm really enjoying it. One item of note...customer service. I had trouble getting the unit to sync with my laptop. Called customer service and got someone on the 2nd ring. He was more than helpful. Updated drivers and he hung with me all the way through registration. One of the best CSR's I've ever worked with. And.....he spoke English that I could understand.
  4. I agree. Stina has a lot more going for her than Kelly. I liked Stina on that show she hosted with all the Big Break stars but she's a bit of a b*tch on the new "inventors" show.

    Michael Vick

He has been a controversial personality ever since he put on a Falcons uniform. The sports talk shows and local paper have been all over this but what does the rest of the country think??? Should the Falcons cut him loose now or wait for the judicial system to guide them?
  6. The guys are right. You can't drop out of the bunker and you can't drop any closer to the hole. I think your best option would have been to try to hit the ball out of it's cave and into a better spot in the bunker.
  7. Aside from getting advice from your pro, Shin dig makes great points. Hit the shot you CAN make not the shot you HOPE you make. Nothing wrong with getting to the green in 3. Heck, I saw a guy in our club championship hit a 5i off the tee (170 yards), a 7i from the fairway (150 yards), another 7i from the fairway (150 yards), a wedge to 5 feet, and a 1 putt for par. As he said "Doesn't matter how you get there, what matters is 'how many' it takes to get there."

    USGA Handicap

There are several ways to get a USGA handicap index. Start by going to www.ghin.com and reading about how the handicap system works. After that you can go to a local club, get one online, or even go to retail shops like Golfsmith. After you get registered, you can post scores online. Regardless of where you go, you should not have to pay more than $30-$40 a year for the service. Good luck and enjoy. I've enjoyed golf much more since I started keeping track of my scores and received an index. It really levels the playing field.

    Tipping

I've played East Lake several times and yes, there is a no tipping policy. But...most people, especially guests, tip the caddies, bag staff, and locker room attendents during their visit to the club. Just be quick and discreet. We have the same policy at my club but I usually tip when the guys/girls are working hard, especially when it's hot and humid. Tipping also helps to keep the good employees on staff and working hard.
  10. The same thing happens to me. I get sort of "lazy" if I eat more than a few crackers or a piece of fruit while playing. I just stick to water and snacks until the last three holes, then I'll switch to beer for the homestretch.
  11. More and more people are starting to use graphite in their irons. I have two sets and like the set with graphite shafts better. I'm still young (under 40) and have a pretty strong swing. It's just a matter of prference. I don't think the sales guy was blowing smoke. If he was, he would have steered you towards the graphite, they are more expensive.
  12. You're right. He's looking pretty bad. His lifestyle is catching up to him and he doesn't have the "juice" to keep him going for a solid 18 holes.

    Tipping

I typically fork over $1 per drink to the cart girl and between $2 and $5 to the guys who cleans the clubs and puts my bag in the car. I'm not sure they deserve it based on effort, but I've resigned myself that it's the right thing to do.
  14. OK...been lurking here for a couple weeks and just had to register. You guys are insightful...and hilarious. Reading this thread has pretty much convinced me to get the SG3. My golf buddy has the Bushnell 1500 and, while it's nice, I like what the SG3 offers. Our pro shop sells them for $279, so I'll likely purchase it there. A quick question to all, especially NXT 30 (since he works for a company that sells them), when was the SG3 launched and do we expect an newer version to hit the market in the next 6 months??
