From what I saw, that Raul dude's swing looks horrendous. It made me cringe. The ashley's are looking good =]

Honestly I'm too lazy to respond to your responses to my responses. lol sorry. I don't mind you trying to create a topic to talk about but you seemed so close-minded about Camilo so I had to defend him. Just want to point out that there is a clear distinction between being able to put a good roll on the ball exactly where you want to including getting the distance right, and being able to read a putt. I have a friend who is a great green-reader (he can tell me "putt to this exact spot 2 balls left of the hole" and if I do, it will more than likely go in). He's a pretty good putter but his green-reading ability is quite a bit better than his actual putting. So my final point is, it's inconclusive to mention his putting stats in relation to how well his move helps him read putts.

I felt sick and absolutely frustrated today. I played in an MAPGA Jr. tour event. I woke up at 4:15 to drive 2 and a half hours to my tournament. I shot +23. (Par 70). 48 on the front and 45 on the back. What a waste. I straight up shanked around 6 shots. They went dead right on me. I was hooking my irons because i was flipping my hands and I was working with my teacher to not release my hands so much which caused me to shank some balls and that translated to my round today. I have never rolled the ball better though. The line on the side that I line up with rolls perfectly straight. Too bad it didn't matter because I just didn't give a crap I was playing so horribly so I just went up and smacked my putts I felt so horrible. My driving was absolutely terrible too. I think I hit 2 drives that went straight and broke 235. I was pull/skying everything. I felt like I shot a 130. 2 weekends ago I shot a +1 37 on 9. I can't believe I can go and pull something like that.

you're guilty of being close-minded and unnecessarily condescending honestly camilo is nowhere near alone with his slim (in my opinion very great) sense of style. as many people have pointed out already, even tiger wears tight fitted stuff. I was reading something about how he changed his shirt size from xl to medium over the years. I'm making a huge assumption but I'm 99% sure I'm right because of the way you're ripping camilo's style: you have no sense of style. By "comfortable golf shirt" and "nice fitting pants" I think you meant baggy and sloppy looking. honestly... "what he wears isn't needed"....?!?!?! you keep emphasizing your "traditionalist" mindset yet you never responded to what I said about your club choice.

all of those have a higher spin and lower spin version. the 2 for callaway are tour i and tour ix

there's nothing wrong with using a cheap distance ball as long as you accomodate for it enough in your short game. I usually use mid price balls like burner tp or nxts because I don't feel like spending more and they have better short game spin/control than cheapo balls. I have some prov1s and tp balls etc and I like using them best because I can hit a couple shots more easily that I can with any balls that have less spin (eg. really low pitches that check up fast).

I was watching the golf channel show play with the pros and the host asked him if he did his get low move for show. He said no, and whether or not he was telling the truth I certainly believe that it helps him read putts. So perhaps it is partially for show, but if it helps him at all in reading putts, I have no problem with it whatsoever. I would take looking like a showboat if I could hole some more putts any day. He's not wearing the tightest clothing possible. Far from it. His clothing is slim, yes, and well fitting . SO much better than 95% of the golfing world where people wear polos that have sleeves that go down to your elbow and wear pleated baggy pants. I wouldn't ridicule his dress unless you've got some style yourself. You say that golf is still a traditionalists sport yet your club choice completely contradicts this. If you're that set on retaining more traditional looks whether on your person or on your clubs, why not have traditional pear shaped woods compared to clubs completely on the opposite end of traditional appearance.

Immelman was in a playoff in the st jude championship. That's pretty close to 2 wins. He doesn't strike me as a regular contender every week but I'm sure he could be a multiple event winner

I probably average around just under 1 birdie per 9 holes. Most birdies I've had is 2 unfortunately. I'm sure I'll have plenty more than that soon enough. I just started giving myself a lot more birdie opportunities this season so we'll see how I progress.

If I was in between clubs, I would play the club based off of pin placement. Let's say I was 151 yards to a front pin. A normal, well struck 8-iron is probably in the 147-8 range for me. I would step on the 8 because with a little more distance and added spin from hitting it harder, it would give me a better shot of getting it close and stopping it. If I hit a really smooth 7, I might get the right distance but there would be less spin and a slightly lower trajectory and it might go past. For middle and back pin placements, I would probably take the higher club.

I apologize. I'm glad you were kidding. I'm just always ready to rip people who are serious about that kind of thing.

He's my fave. Along with Luke Donald.

I hope the op was kidding. I can't believe you even attached "-bomb" to the end of it. Next thing we know, you don't want to be dropping the "b-bomb" and calling someone a butt! GOD FORBID! =0 Kids have heard and do use much worse than that from a very young age. I'm not justifying it's use and I know I swear way too much (I'm 16) but there is no need to so much as mention it or make a big deal of it. You should join one of those wacko parent/family censorship advocacy groups.

Are my DG S300s too flexible for me?
jcrew replied to bunkerputt's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I really apologize if you are an anamoly but I call BULL on your 225 6 iron. If you mean downwind, down hill, pured, once-in-a lifetime, stars-aligned, shot then maybe. I know one kid that is ridiculously long (he carries his drives close to 300 and he flew a 155 yard green with his pw) and he definitely can not hit a 225 yard 6 iron. Anyways, if you are even close to a 225 6 iron then you should definitely be hitting x100s. If you're holding off to make sure you don't hook, you definitely need a stouter/stiffer shaft. -
In need of driver shaft(s) recommendation.

Try the PL Red. There's no upcharge but it should drop your spin and launch down a bit. I tried the 10.5 g10 w/ stiff pl red and it was a pretty good ball flight and felt great. 9 or 9.5 would have been better for me but if you hit it high with a lot of spin the pl red should help. -
Fairway Wood shaft recommendations
jcrew replied to Jack_2251's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I'm not satisfied with the cobra. The face is a little deep for my liking and since the shaft is 55g, it's a noodle and if I hit anything but really smoothly, it balloons on me. I'm so conflicted. 13.5 or 15.5 hmmph.. -
Fairway Wood shaft recommendations

Not to threadjack, but I have a somewhat related question. I'm about to get a 906 F4 but the titleist diamana blue stiff wasn't enough shaft - I hit it too high and ballooned it, especially with the 15.5. I was thinking about the 13.5 with a vs-proto 80-s but I think that might be a little too much club. How hard would that be to hit off the deck? Will the vs-proto flatten out the 15.5 enough and increase the distance? -
Depends on exactly what you're looking for. I think separate wedges would be more versatile. I would suggest the taylormade tps. If you like your titleist, go for another one. I think they're great on chips and offer lots of spin but I just don't like the way they are for full shots and I prefer the feel of the taylormade.

Have you tried them outside on a range? Ballflight should be an important factor. I can only imagine they'd be different. If you're considering the AP2's with the project x and the s300 in the mp57s

just got my ogio vaporlite in the mail =] I got the cc version or the one without the big ogio logo on the front. Great bag so far - my bag is still quite heavy though cause of my clubs.

changing grip size...how much of an effect?
jcrew replied to gills's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
In my experience hitting various shots with my friend's larger grips, it keeps my hands/wrists quieter and makes it a bit harder to release the club. -
Par 4.. I hit a really high weak power fade off the tee like I have been all day. I was in the right rough, sitting up fine. Almost 210 out and uphill quite a bit. I smacked my 2-hybrid nice and high and it caught a tiny bit of rough just before the green and skidded on to about 10 feet. I made the putt.

yooooo were you at brambleton today? I think I saw you - you were wearing your briar woods shirt? I played 18.. didn't keep score on the front but shot 39 on the back. First time I've actually broken 40 officially and I was swinging terribly today. I hit weak fades off the tee constantly, topped some shots, caught many shots on the heel, etc. I hit a couple amazing 2 hybrids though. My chipping and putting were pretty decent so I think my best score for 9 coming when I'm swinging terribly is really a testament to the importance of short game.

Poll: What Hybrid Do You Use?
jcrew replied to golf_fore_18's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I've got a rescue tp. I'm thinking about switching to 2 and 3 bridgestone j36 hybrids. I have made some good shots with that rescue tp though =/
