  1. Mainly PW (47 Degrees) but also 52 and 58
  2. I imagine David Duval did. It is very frustrating to see Scott like this, he is an amazingly talented player but seem to have a lot of issues up top at the moment.
  3. He a fantastic ball striker (As good as the best pros already) but I think his putting is a bit suspect. Hopefully he can improve this and he doesn't waste his talents like Adam Scott.
  4. They are certainly in financial trouble. But why not make the most of the discounts as they make great clubs and particularly irons. I just picked up a great deal on a set of MT Pro-C Irons on a 3balls golf auction and they are brand spanking new with the heads still in shrink wrap. Greg Norman has also now signed an equipment deal with Taylor-Made which doesn't say much for the future of MacGregor when he is apparently still a major shareholder.
  5. I think they have changed the course to its detriment. It is not really the length as all of the players hit the ball further now, but with changes to driving lines and added trees etc on so many holes the players can't afford to take the risk of going for eagles on the back nine par 5's as they no they can't make up a blowup as there are not obvious birdie holes anymore.
  6. Always repair any obvious plug marks that I see, I don't search the green for them
  7. The "Tour Burner" does not have an extra long shaft however the "Burner" driver (both old and new models) does. Also the stock tour burner (not the TP model) has a slight draw configuration so may help with your slice. I have played both the FT-5 and Tour Burner and would recommend either. I mainly got rid of my FT-5 because I didn't like the shaft and got a good trade deal. Good luck with the purchase
  8. 1. Get handicap down to 12.0 (Ideally in 6 months time and them under 10 by the end of the year). I am currently 15.4 and started last year on 21. 2. Practice. I did very little this year and when I did I generally practiced the things I could already do well. My goal is to practice my shortgame and putting at least once a week. 3. Get my putts to under 30 per round. I averaged around 34 this year which is disgraceful for someone that misses so many greens in regulation 4. Hit more greens in regulation. I am around 25-30% at the moment but when playing well I have hit over 65%. I would like my average to be near 50% for this year. 5. Be more patient on the course. I allow myself to get worked up about being held up by slow play and it costs me numerous shots every round.
  9. My home course is around 6500 yards and I consider anything over 6600 to be fairly long. Obviously a lot of new courses are extremely long but it is only on the rare occasion that the plates are all the way back
  10. Stacey_E has already answered that Titelist ProV1 249.0 / 11,914 / 57.2 Titelist ProV1x 250.4 / 12,299 / 55.8 Callaway Tour i 253.7 / 10,473 / NA Callaway Tour ix 253.4 / 9,990 / NA B330 253.9 / 12,137 / NA B330s 255.2 / 11,866 / 57.2 TP Black 259.1 / 12,062 / 56.6 TP Red 258.6 / 11,872 / NA
  11. The photos look real to me. Congratulations on the purchase.
  12. Par4's for me. They give a good change to play different shots and use different clubs. I have no issue with 3's or 5's but often find par3's a bit dull. Par5's can be great when they offer the risk / reward choice of going for the green in two, but too many modern day par 5's are so long that this is not an option. Just my .02
  13. I agree with a lot of the other comments. The research is great and I don't think the average player thinks about or practices their short game and putting enough (myself included) but I find the book way too complicated and detailed into practice. In saying that, my main take from both his books was to practice my short game and putting more which has improved my scoring so I guess the books did have a positive influence on my game just not the instructional type that I expected
  14. From what I have read about $7M US per annum. Don't be surprised if he signs a deal for more in the next month of so.
  15. Thanks for the advice. Unless I have a very open par5 and will not be able to get my 3 wood to within 130m then I will probably stick to the 3wood though
  16. Good on him. All the comments about him not being close to Tiger are pointless. Tiger is still ranked number 1. Garcia has been extemely consistent all year and with the possible exception of Harrington with his 2 majors I can not think of a more deserving number 2. Lets hope he bags a major soon as he certainly has the talent
  17. Have hit one with the Aldila NV 75 Shaft and it is a very good club. Good luck to you, that is a great price
  18. Obviously it is a fake, but there are several things (apart from the obvious mispelling) that look incorrect. 1. The font for the word "NEUTRAL" is incorrect 2. The Serial number is normally written in a straight line and not curved as in the photos I hope you get your money back
  19. I buy used golf balls to play with but don't have time to search for them... I wish I did though as it would beat work anyday
  20. I haven't hit it but it looks very similar to the L4V which I have hit at a demo day. It looks like just another example of Manufacturers rushing out new models every 12 months (or more frequently in some cases) which quickly devalues the clubs already owned by their loyal followers... Now that my rant is out of the way, I agree with the other posters and think you should be able to get a great deal on a new L4V.
  21. I would love to but I am not sure there are too many members in Brisbane!
  22. 100 Yards is a 3/4 Wedge for me. Just too far for my 54 which maxes out at 85-90 yards. If you have issues with it, then play a practise round and drop a few balls at that distance. It doesn't matter what club you use as long as you can control it. I would probably hit the green 75% of the time from 100 yards.
  23. I have read both his books, and while I didn't particularly like the putting book, I think there were a lot of great things in the Short Game one. I particulary liked the bunker technique. It was a big change to not open the face and stance but it has worked wonders for me. I now use a vokey SM58.12 and allowing the clubs "bounce" do its job works really well for me.
  24. I think my niece would like some of these for christmas!!
  25. Clones can be ok but the real issue is that a lot of them are inferior quality. Heads evenually fall off etc. I would recommend a good 2nd hand set.
